How many missions does this campaign have? It looks like only 2, but that doesn't feel right...

Wow, and here I thought it couldn't get that much better than the first one. Both are solid 5/5 for me, it took me almost 4 hours but I never got bored or frustrated, I did need a guide for some parts but the walkthrough is pretty good for that.
The addition of the
jobs is very fun, I was amazed how much interesting stuff can be found in this map. The
outdoor club at the beach was really cool.
Does anyone know what the name of the song is that's playing when you pick up the
songbook? As heard here (
https://youtu.be/cYwcr1mptbI?t=458) (I can't use this for music recognition sadly)
Couldn't find it in the snd folder.
The music is great by the way, I absolutely love it when there is new music in FMs even if it's just a single royalty free track or something, adds much to the uniqueness of the mission in my opinion.
Hopefully we get Part 3 some day but if not, I'm grateful to have been given the chance to experience those two masterpieces.

It's not easy to hear the background music with the audio comment in the foreground, but I think it's snd\garrett\gar0107.wav that is being played there. No idea what piece of music that is, though.
However, there is a line "Additional ambients" in the FM Info file which apparently lists the artitsts whose audio material was used: "Vozrozhdeniya, Dereleech, Ego Ex Nihil, Atrium Carceri, Franz Bak, Michael Ortega". Maybe you can now find the music you're looking for.

Thank you so much, that was it, I thought there were only voice lines in that folder. :) Might even be the complete track, sounds like trailer music.

Went through most of their stuff but couldn't find it, if I do, I'll edit my post in case anyone else is interested.

Is it necessary to play Being Thief 1 before Being Thief 2 in order to understand the latter's story?
Stingm on 4/2/2024 at 04:39
I would as it will explain some things. But you don't have to if you don't want too,

Thank you, Stingm.
Part 1: A Busy Night
Stats:
* Normal difficulty
* 5 hours and 26 minutes
* 9325 of 13750 total loot
* 2 of 10 secrets
* All jobs accepted and completed
* 7 hints needed
Elements I liked:
* A very large map crammed with details, exciting rooftop climbing, great architecture and lighting, as well as hidden areas to discover. It will both entertain and challenge even seasoned players.
* New textures and objects. Everything looks really good for T2. I could often not tell what was custom because it blended in so well.
* The citizens of Westport don't just stand around: They have conversations on the street, are having a smoke, drink, dance, play chess, admire themselves in a mirror, play piano, ...
* All models of sleeping people look so much better than in the base game.
* The lively crowd in the hotel bar was fairly believable, usually not one of the strengths of T2. It must have required some effort to get the drinking and partying motions right.
* The puking girl in the hotel restroom who goes back to partying the instant she is done vomiting into the toilet was especially well done for a T2 mission.
* Lots of working light switches. Candles that can be extinguished and relit.
* Usually, T2 missions look a little iffy from up high, but the author did a very nice job with building placement and backdrops. It looks great.
* Garrett quips are reused at fitting locations.
* As soon as you enter the Mechanist HQ, the atmosphere changes. I loved how creepy the place felt.
* Beautiful custom book designs.
Could be improved:
* The gameplay relies an awful lot on the player finding hard to find areas in the right order. If you arrive at the wrong place too early, quest objects cannot be interacted with. This can and will trip up players. For example, when I found Titil's apartment, I had not read the report of Detective Mills, so her diary was not placed on her desk yet. I had to first find the report and later return to the apartment of Titil.
* Naked Titil does not react when a fully clothed Garrett joins her in the shower.
* This mission can get exhausting because exploring the sizable map takes several hours. It did not feel like I was making much progress for the first three hours.
* When the game language is Germany, the Garret quips are a mishmash of German and English ones.
* I got no lockpicking sounds from the two metal doors on platforms above the water slightly south and north of the Mechanist HQ main entrance.
* You can place the liquor bottles in the food shop inside of each other. They are not solid objects.
* It is more difficult to see directions with the custom compass than with the standard Thief one. I did not like using this compass.
* You can get out of bounds by using a slow-fall potion to jump down from the water tower on the backside of the Mechanist HQ to the pipes below, then mantle up to the roof with the winged angel statue. From there, you can stake a stroll on the ship yard's roof or outside the level boundary in the other direction.
Bugs:
* When I carried bodies, the symbol of a carried body above the light gem was gray and somewhat distorted. I could not tell if this was intentional or not.
Hints needed:
* I missed the rack with the jobs in the shed at the very beginning of the mission. This lead to a weird experience where obvious quest locations were deactivated and I wasn't making any progress. For example, the door to the "ALMA" safe is a brick wall until you read the scroll with the job. Where you get the Eye of the Beholder, the valve to temporarily turn off the gas is deactivated. The library chest key in the house of the piano player is unfrobabble.
* Missed the wooden ledge from where you can access Titil's apartment.
* Missed the apartment of Detective Mills above the bank and therefore could not read Titil's diary in her apartment, which I had discovered before, and get the key to Dr. Stein's laboratory.
* Failed to notice the chest that contains the dagger key when I searched the area it is in.
* Did not find the Kavich painting hidden in an attic above the bakery.
* Did not see the ladder next to some scaffolding near the Mechanist HQ front entrance that leads to a warehouse office where one of the Kavich paintings is hidden.
* Missed the last wanted posted near the outdoor party.
Part 2: The Next Sunset
Stats:
* Normal difficulty
* 18 minutes
* 100 of 435 total loot
* 1 hint needed
Elements I liked:
* I liked the idea of returning to the harbor during daylight the next morning, after casing the joint and unlocking an entry point.
Hint needed:
* Did not find the safe hiding spot. I was feeling tired at that point in my playthrough and needed to go through bed, so I resorted to a walkthrough after a brief sweep of the Cetus Amicus.

Another beautiful, but absolutely worthwhile romp through Garret's world. Fantastic tight map design. Brilliant moody settings, and tons of real exploration. I highly recommend anybody just getting into (or back into) Thief to add this to their 'Must-play' list (play 'Being Thief 1' first for best understanding & results though). Well done, and thankyou Sensut for all your hard and masterful work!
