Just discovered this mission, the city exploration with all the little places to find all around makes it very good, giving some "freeform" feel to the mission.
I have not completed it yet, but i'm working on this.
The only annoyance i have is the rather large amount of doors that are placed in a way that they're just calling you to open/unlock them but that once you get close are in fact non interactive at all, just door textures drawn in walls, this breaks a bit for me the feeling of "freeform" exploration this city mission had.
But out of that annoyance, it's truly a great mission.

Thanks for your comment, Flyinhammer! I understand your comment about the fake doors, just keep in mind that the map is as large as Dromed allowed me to build - it is very close to terrain limits. It could be larger with the new patch, but back when it was made, we didn't know something like that would ever come out.

I didn't thought of the limitation of that time, but it makes sense now that i think that even Looking Glass had to tone down some missions map size a bit too (demo "life of the party" vs retail "life of the party" that became much smaller).
But despite such limitation and the non-interactive doors around the city, Disorientation feels really great by the freeform gameplay you gave to it and all the nice little place to explore thanks to some stunts to reach them , just brillant ;)
I spent a lot of time trying to find everything, and i doubt i did . A very good FM that i can't believe managed to fly under my radars for so many years. But im glad the new patch brought me back into FM hunting as i could get my hands on this jewel.

If there was ever an FM that screams to be texture updated and New Dark-ed, this must be it. A non-linear masterpiece...

I am afraid that is not going to happen.
* First, the mission follows a baseline TDP aesthetic on purpose. All the texture and object selection and alignment is intentional. I even recommend uninstalling the standard object enhancement packs when playing it, since it breaks the cohesion of the visuals.
* Second, I can hardly do anything in Dromed anymore, as I haven't touched it in almost four years. I don't even know how to create and move brushes with it.
* Third, if there is something I am unable to do, it is revising my own work. It really depresses me when I have to touch a previous project, and I tend to get nowhere.
So, enjoy this FM for what it is, and look for new ones - skacky is doing a great job building city missions after my own heart in NewDark, while I work on my TDM projects.

Hi,
I am in a room that I accessed via a grate, while in a room with water. I think maybe the Power Station? There's another room with rolled up un-frobbable carpets, and a gate with an elevator behind that I can't open. I can't use the picks and I don't have the key for it. Does anyone have any idea how I can get it open? It's all in the big warehouse where the corpse was in a treasure box.

You should be able to open that door without a key. Only the door at the top of the elevator shaft requires a key, which can be found in the vicinity.
llanita on 7/8/2013 at 14:22
I don't know why then it won't open. The gate stays frobbable when I'm up close, and I can hear the clicks when I use the picks, but it stays closed.

That's weird. You're talking about this door, right? (

I can open it just fine on all difficulty modes.
