I haven't played a Thief 2 mission in a couple years, but tonight for some reason I just got in the mood, so after searching the forums for a bit I picked this one due to 1) I know the author produces high quality stuff and 2) it says it is non-linear city exploration with lots of vertical/rooftop play.
I've played just for a couple hours, just making a dent in the northern section, and I LOVE IT!!!
To be honest, it took me about a half hour to get used to the "emptiness" or simplicity of the design (large straight walls, huge open areas, etc), but now I'm just having a blast and enjoying the exploration and gameplay. I also love the readables thus far, very well done I feel (I especially liked the Watch Station letter warning about the Lowreach incursion, and look forward to dealing with that situation more).
I've currently just snuck into the rafters of the Mercantile Guild - cool to peer straight down on a guard making his rounds here and there.
Not sure when I'll get a chance to finish the mission (hopefully within a couple weeks so I don't forget details)
But so far, BIG THUMBS UP Melan!!!

I had to deal with that Zombie one way or another. After my trip through Keeper country I had a nice stockpile of mines, so why not put them to good use?

hey Melan,
thanks for your reply, unfortunately I wasnt able to post on the forums because I changed my Internet Provider therefore I
had to wait until the new provider installed the modem, router etc.
Never the less I played your mission almost every day the last weeks and I'm still searching for some secrets.
Is there a bonus objective with the dead hammerite up in the warehouse? Shall I place his body at a special place?
How do I get in the Thieves attic? Sterlino posted a screenshot earlier but I have no clue how to get up there.
Nearby the canal before the waterfall there is a window with a goblet on its windowsill. When I look through the window I can frob a door.
Is this area accessable?
Down in the keepers area I hear a person walking around and frobbing something? Who is that and what is he doing?
Just wanted to let you know that I'm obsessed by your mission. I'm thinking about it all the time, when I'm at work, when I drive my car, when I'm in the metro etc.
I can't stop until I figured everything out. As soon as Ive finished this mission, I'll try your others.
@Komag, where did you find all those mines?
Komag on 7/4/2011 at 22:09
- Nothing with that hammerite, just there for fun
- Jump on the roof on the other side of the building, jump from the other roof next to the machines
- You can't get into that area with the frobbable door, just there for fun
- I don't know who that invisible guy is, but he's harmless
I got the mines in the keeper compound in the secret area from the lower section (you have to stack a bunch of stuff and jump over the rail)

Thanks for your comments! Since I built the mission for people who love exploring and finding odd nooks and crannies, I tried to include as much of that as possible. Even though I know the place inside out, Komag has managed to surprise me with that video -- good thinking! :D
The thief's attic takes one jump from the roof of the opposing building, then some climbing and opening the skylight. It is not hard if you have a good running start.
WRT my other missions, Bad Debts is set right before Disorientation, so you may be interested in trying that next. It is my first mission, so it is rougher and less forgiving, with some very hard exploration puzzles and very lean resources (this may be a plus for some people). Unbidden Guest is a Life of the Party what-if (e.g. "what if the mechanists were not lead by a suicidal retard" // "what if Thief 2 was stylistically closer to TDP"), Prowler of the Dark is a simple heist mission I built over a Christmas holiday, and Return to the City (TDM) its sequel.

just played this again on hard, short 1300 loot (where the hell did you hide it all...)
I found a lot of secret places, includeing the mad crate makers place and even the tough to get too place opposite and high above there.... and the secret keeper library
So come on what other super secret places have a missed...

Nearly finished replaying this - trying to obtain all loot. I'm currently 100 short. Looking through the loot list the only thing I can think I've missed is the ring, hand thief's attic. Where is this?
Melan on 4/6/2011 at 18:40
Arondil: If you are only 100 short, you have already been to the attic; it is the one opened with the skylight (East of the Palace). The ring is on a mummified hand affixed to the wall.

Cheers, found it.
I'd actually been to that room about a dozen times, including once as a restart just to check I hadn't missed it there. I need new glasses :D.
Excellent mission.

It is easier than you think:
there is a lever on the inside you can frob from this side of the gate. Replaying this one, and having a hard time on this..........
when I'm able to press the lever I'm to close so the gate wont open...If I stand back the lever won't frob.....What would be the riight position? I've been trying for half an hour......
