Melan:
since this FM was amazing i can't resist to ask you:
are you working on something ?
there will be a sequel to disorientation ?
Melan on 18/11/2009 at 06:36
I hope so, but it will most likely be for The Dark Mod at this point. I actually started building it and made some initial progress, but was distracted by the Christmas contest. Once the mission for that is wrapped up (and it could be a late entry, I've got a lot of IRL work on my plate, too), I will return to its construction.

Has someone made a walkthrough of this mission yet? It is exactly what the title claims and I have tried it 3 different times to no avail.
Tafferjim, I made a little walkthrough for Disorientation on normal difficulty. Check out my Thief 2 walkthrough website and go the link for Disorientation. This was a tough one to write a walkthrough for but well worth it.

That has to be one of the most efficient walkthroughs that could be done for the mission. :laff: Using one of the ---two--- alternate routes into the Palace - right! :D
[edit]However, if you want to be super-efficient, the easiest way to get the Normal loot requirement is to loot, in this order,
1) The shops, including the Alchemist (90+20+150)
2) The Beaurigard estate (25+250+50)
3) The Mercantile Guild (100+30, three hard to get brass rings omitted) and the golden harp outside (100)
4) The Palace (90+15+50+80+135+20)
That puts you 205 over what you need - without even visiting the Lower City or the waterways! :D

Decided to replay this Supercalifragalisticexpealidocious FM on a bleak winter's day, but am having a brain freeze of sorts.
I am in the palace where Lady Azamlarg was KOed. There is a metal gate in an octagonal room that I vaguely remembered opening the first time I played.
Please tell me what I have to do to open it...'cause I forgot.
Thanks
Melan on 6/1/2010 at 08:03
That one may not be opened. You must be remembering something else.

I must say it now (since I forgot to earlier, or maybe this was released before I joined TTLG?), I love the architecture in this mission: It hearkens back to the days of 16-bit graphics and yet your still able to create something that makes Assasins pale in comparison.
Thanks, melan.

Thanks Melan. I will say this without reserve: THE Best FM of all time!!
It is fun to explore again and find new places I overlooked earlier....but I was sure that gate opened;....almost sure;...well,.. maybe it opened and maybe not. Anyway, I will stop beating myself up over it.
Happy New Year!

I've maxed my gamma, brightness, contrast AND zoomed right in. I still can't see the wooden sill to sink a rope arrow into, so I can get in the palace window as per this thread. l free to tell me how blind I am, but please tell me exactly how to get in!
I'm mainly posting this in the hope that I'll realise how stupid I've been, as soon as I press 'submit'. It rarely fails :)
And it worked! No need to reply, ta!

Uh... you are welcome? :erm:
