Esme - I reached both places without using a single crate. One rope arrow for the Society place, and no extras for the skylight house.
Looks to me that the only place you can't enter without using (lots of) crates is the Keeper Library floor. As curious as I am about getting down there, I'm not gonna bother with dragging crates all the way down there.

no, the buttons don't do anything. this is near the house with the skylight everyone has been posting about (which I finally got into), under the archer's patrol just to the south.
Sheesh, have some patience. The elevator is very far down and takes a while to get up to you. Just press the top button and wait.

Yes, I thought the Society of the Tower was pretty easy too, with one rope arrow. However, I seem to have exhausted every area with a stiff neck and a little over $2,500 in loot to show for it! Where the heck can all the rest of that loot be???? I wonder if Nightwalker suffered acrophobia in this mission same as I???;) ;):cool::cool:
I should amend this to say "was pretty easy" AFTER you figure out where to put the arrow!!! I am finding it wise to try a rope arrow anyplace it seems even remotely possible that one will stick. Several times I have been surprised with these trials when one actually DID stick.

you're right, Arrowgrab, there was just so much else to see and do that I was going a little nuts and didn't notice it moving. sorry!
patience was what I needed, too, riding it back and forth to pick the gate halfway down. all that effort, just to end up at the bottom!
I finally got into the Beaurigard's via fire arrow. I found the secret entrance for the servant, but no trigger; how is everyone else getting in? how is anyone getting that cup on the outer upper-story windowsill?

Sterlino, that door opens from the other side, OR maybe you already have the escape route key? (or something like that) Key found in the Warden's quarters...
I read of too many areas that I didn't visit yet, and I thought I searched pretty good. I hope Nightwalker will make a walkthrough of it soon...

sterlino:
-door: this door opens from other side, check inside Palace... However you can blow the door with explosives... as I did. Btw. this is another way to Palace...
-yes, I was there (a little loot and nice view), I think quite a lot of taffers have been there yet... :)
-Keepers library: you should use your hands and work hard - classic way with use of crates. Right now I spent about a hour doing it... :(
