There is a gate to the right at the very beginning, with a lever behind it. I know I have to open it from the other side, but how can I get to the other side?I even had a brief look behind it in dromed but couldn't figure out the way.
The only idea I had was to enter through waterway (by standing on a chain and jumping) but the current is too strong.

Haplo: you're at the right place to get there. Look around from chain and think higher then waterfall, and think about rope arrow ... ;)

Best city mission I've played in a long, long time. The layout is very lifelike, seemingly random twists and turns and sloping streets make the city look very authentic. The climbing is top notch as well, great use of vertical space. The whole mission is built like you descend a hill, you start off at the high point and work you way down to where the poor house is, or you can take the wet route and let the river take you there. I don't think I've ever seen that done in Thief really. Amazing design, well done and may you build many more missions like this one, I enjoyed it very much.

was in a beta build, I don't know if it was changed) possible
to get up the waterway. You had to jump to the upper tract, and swim up-current while hugging the floor - the current seemed to be weaker there. As for the painting, I for one didn't notice the bleeding during beta testing. However, it's very appropriate, and all you taffers pissed off by the valve puzzle can vent your frustration on it -
it's Melan.

I love these crazy crate makers how on earth do they intend to get them through the doors ? :laff: nice way to get to the nearby goblet and wine bottle too took a bit of thinking about that did :ebil:
just got to find this thing that clearing found, I could have sworn I checked that place thoroughly :nono:
just in case you hadn't guessed I'm enjoying this one immensely :thumb:
