I am thoroughly enjoying this mission but I am having some problems. I watched a video walk-through by Knockout Thief and he has a bell that produces a light that I cannot find. I saw that he obtained it in the library but I cannot acquire it. It looked to be a handy item while down in the mines. I also cannot pick up Marianne after the vampire appears.. Finally, where is the rare bottle of wine or those berries? I found all the other parts to put into the cauldron.

AFAIK, on Expert the rare bottle of wine is in the southeast tower, on a windowsill. The berries most likely are in one of the four flower areas near the starting point.
No idea about the other two questions, though.

Thanks baeuchlein. That is a big help.
Edit: I was able to finish it but never was able to find a way to obtain the bell that produces a light that is in a bookcase in the library.. And I missed one secret. It is a great mission.

My old notes say that to get the Mine Key, you have to first go to the bottom of the mine by using the elevator. Look for a passage where the walls are covered with blood. Work your way through there to reach some kind of lake. Swim through and explore the area beyond the lake to eventually find Marianne and Lord Pavoni, vampirized.
The lord appears after you have read a book down there. You have to go through the hatch in the floor which the lord has opened. Travel on and on until you find the tombs of the Knights of the Order of the Dagon. Avoid or destroy the Undead there and move on. You should reach a closed gate or fence.
The fence can only be opened by shooting holy water arrows onto the graves of the Knights whose added numbers/ranks equal 20. This means you have to shoot the 8th, 7th and 5th Knight's graves. The gate/fence should now open. Another tomb awaits.
This tomb contains loot and equipment. More important, however, is C. Pavoni's ghost who appears once you approach an open sarcophagus. He speaks of three trials you have to master, but before that he gives you the Mine key.

Another fantastic mission from nicked.
I'm wondering though: Was there a cure for Marianne? ;)
baeuchlein on 13/4/2025 at 17:09
Considering Marianne's fate: My notes say that you have the choice of killing her before leaving, or taking her with you. Nothing else - or I didn't find it...
chk772 on 13/4/2025 at 19:37
Yeah, I just wondered what happened to her after you took her with you. Happy end or tragedy. :p
Well, I'll just assume that there was a cure which saved her.
