ok i finished the last 2 missions today,i got one question on last mission there is a duct with fire i can not pass i am guessing i dont complete the switches objective to get past it in order to access the placing of the box then go back and do the switches to finish that objective, seems to me most people will complete the switches first then place the box in cooks rooms,so they will never be able to even use that duct work
over all great improvement, did not find dewdrop in last 2 missions, was he in them??

- The fire can be put off with a set of valves not far from there
- No, Dewdrop is not in last 2 missions

ok thank you darkmax great job on missions i enjoyed them alot ,the glyphs are amazing love the thief 3 voices and seems like the textures are way better, and being able to knock out more guards makes missions more fun,and alot more i liked, funny i use to think on mission 3 i had to jump over wall to access the hammer place, but now after doing keeper glyphs then the gates are open,so its was nice to see i was doing it wrong entire time
stone or coin :P one of the best converations

Replaying this great FM again. I'm in mission 1.
I've read the mechanist's diary but nobody is patrolling with the mechanist's key on him.
I've searched the whole town for him, but with no result.
Also can't I get up on the second floor in the cathedral?
Hope someone comes to my rescue here

Gloria, I think the second floor of the cathedral is inaccessible.
For the mechanist to start patrolling (or at least walking), you need to read the armourer's diary (or at least a book near his bed). The armourer's shop can be found near the tavern with the word "Burrick" in its name. It is located next to a locked gate.

the thief's hide out in an abandoned factory. Still I've haven't gotten any useful key.

Hm. The book I am thinking of lies before the armourer's bed. It refers to a thieves' hideout, but the armourer assumes that it is in the sewers.
If I start the older version of this campaign, "Darkstone Gem chapter one: The Conflict", then the armourer's diary has to be read for the machinist to appear. In "Unconventional Intermediator", the slightly changed newer version of the campaign, the machinist appears immediately after the first mission starts, you don't have to do anything. In both cases, the machinist goes to the tavern not far from the armourer's shop, and ends up near the bar counter. The key should be visible on his belt.
Dead bodies make the machinist nervous, and seeing Garrett makes him even more nervous. If he is scared that way, he may first run to the tavern, then leave it again and head for guards stationed on the street that passes by the Mechanist church. Where he goes after that I don't know, my blackjack stopped him from progressing any further, and then a squadron of guards stopped me from progressing.:ebil:
The appearance of the machinist does not seem to be connected to any custom script in both cases. I can see no reason why he should not appear once the armourer's diary has been read. And usually, he should end up at the bar, unless he's scared away.

GOT IT!
Thank you again Baeuchlein for this direct answer. The key was always
on the machinist in the bar. I just was a fool, only looking for a guard. :weird:You're the best!!! :thumb:
I'm off again ......:sly:;):thumb:
