This is a first mission?? I somehow missed this one earlier this year. I spent about an hour yesterday morning just exploring. Amazing.
More of these, please!!!

A job well done on this FM. I found the exploration aspect incredibly enjoyable, though I'm sure I missed some areas. I would definitely offer this as a recommended playthrough to anyone.

A really great first mission; thoroughly enjoyable. I loved the changes in elevation and areas of serene tranquility up above the
Grand Old Hall House,
loads of areas for exploration and thought that the main areas were extremely well executed and with an engaging story line.
The Council building was as confusing as hell - but in a good way. I feel that the author captured the chaos and imminent decay of the town exceptionally well and look forward to any future releases. After completing Korthak's brace before this I was delighted to find this one next.
After searching high and low (and lower) I have exhausted my loot bagging on Normal level and I am slightly disappointed to have achieved just 8168/10090 and for the life of me I just cannot find any more*.
* 7 1/2 hours in and back to scouring the Council chambers, sewers and nooks and crannies I am up to 9087/10090 loot and still thoroughly enjoying this FM**.
Love the message up high near the Grand Old Hall House, and no, I couldn't have made it I reckon without the speed potion it wasn't "easy" for me.
**A slight increase in the loot tally; after crawling around going over old ground 9212/10090 and I found Dewdrop too. Although it's located in an area 'out of bounds'. Also discovered four Bowmen, three of whom I hadn't anticipated who were definitely not very pleased to see me either. Have to get some nice screenshots as the FM looks even better the higher one gets.

Playing this one right now. It's really up to date now.
Keep cool Taffers, be safe and keep on playing Thief.

What do I do with the X signs on the wall. I can't pick up the firebarrels.

I'm so sorry Gloria! I must have missed your comment. The X marks are not for you, they are for the other thieves in this mission to know where to use the explosives. They are only for story-telling purposes.
I guess it's too late to answer you now
By the way, I am sure I've read it elsewhere, but I can't find your explanation... where does your 'both go to heaven' motto come from? I seem to remember it was a book or a song?

I just got around to this creepy mission and it turns out it deserved all the acclaim it got. I have to agree with others who say it holds up with the best of them. Excellent warped, interconnected, vertical layout, excellent use of stock textures and sound effects, great secrets (unmarked though). I got a shocking amount of loot, which only turned out to be 3/4 of what was there... Perhaps my favorite aspect of the mission is that it leads you to believe the crisis is supernatural in origin, with what I took to be a mage's house near the start, lots of creepy details and not-fully-explained side stories, many houses with decorative or not-so-decorative bones, but as you play it turns out that it's of a much more mundane nature, but no less horrifying because of it. The thieves were a great addition as well. And of course the secret room with the tiny people was truly out-there.
10/10. This is one of those I will certainly replay in the future. I look forward to discovering more of its secrets.

Others more qualified than me have already covered this, but along with the architecture being twisty and creative, I would like to praise the author's excellent sense of taste in detailing. This mission is packed with neat little rooms to poke your head into. Lots of atmospheric and "storied" scenes, achieved with careful object placement that feels rich but never excessive. Stuff that's fun to find even if there's no loot involved (although there often is). Cozy nooks galore. That, combined with the number of routes to take, is what truly makes this an explorer's delight.

Hello, I do have a problem with this FM. Whenever I want to play it, instead of the FM the first mission of Thief 2 starts to play:confused:
I remember I had this problem once with a fanmission from Christine and solved it by using darkloader instead of FMselector. Now I´ve tried out angelloader but with both fmselector and angelloader the problem stays.
Any idea what I could do about it?
