I finished mission 1 but I had trouble with 2 things which are optional and need to know the answers because this mission is incredible,I don't want to miss a thing.I read the answers here but the hints don't help me at all and I spent way more time than I'd like to,trying to figure out the answer so I would really appreciate a direct and obvious answer as to what to do.
1.I can't get into Cartiff! [spoiler]the hint was 'vertically',but where do I shoot the rope arrow?[/spoiler]
2.[spoiler]I know there is a secret basement where I met the client,I see an unfrobbable button and three unfrobbable doors but I have no idea how to get there[/spoiler]

2. Actually, you see an unfrobbable button, three unfrobbable doors, and a sign. Look closely at the sign.

Hi Balboa thanks for the quick answer and congratulations for this amazing mission. But this is quite embarrasing for me. [spoiler]I know you said previously some fenceposts are wood and I did that,to get to the silversmith opposite cartiff but I see nothing near cardiff where I can rope arrow to.I shot rope arrows all over the place for the last few hours!Also I have been looking at this sign at the basement and right clicked like crazy,nothing happens,I see something different on the lower right corner of it but nothing happens.What am I doing wrong? :([/spoiler]

You have to
go around Cartiff's, clockwise, as far as you can go. There, you will pass a high fence on your left.
Enter Cartiff's through an upstairs window.The
sign in the Mercantile basement does nothing in mission 1.
In mission 3, you must get closer to it.

I'm replaying these excellent missions, trying to get more secrets. In mission 1, on Expert, I have 10/11. Judging by post #212 I may be missing the one in Bafford Downs. I have spent a lot of time there but can't seem to find it. (I've been across the high wire and got my reward, but I don't think that counted as a secret.) A clue would be appreciated please.

that should count as a secret, or at least it did to me as far as i recall.
also, if you're to kind enough to PM me a list of secrets you identified? despite the author's help, i couldnt locate the missing one. please don't post it here as Balboa seemingly doesn't want them to be published just yet. cheers!

I just tried that, got the message "GK13 has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."

indeed, sorry for the mess. it seems i'm not allowed to use the messaging system just yet:
Finally as a new user you will be restricted from using a couple of features, such as the Private Messaging system. However, once you have made a few posts you will have access to these things.i'm afraid we'll have to wait until the author publishes the list of secrets then :D
