I'm really struggling with Mission 3
I got into the office and collected the papers; ran all around, but couldn't find any new places to go so I'm back in the attic safe area of the mercantile building.
How do I figure the code for the safe, since it is not what is written? there are no readables with clues that I can find.
This seems to be the thing I need to figure out before I can pursue further objectives (sub-basement, church, lady bafford, etc)

radogoal, the business card has to be used in one of the small rooms between the elevators and the main church room. There is a place where a sign says something like "tell us who you are to receive some blessing". The actual words are different, but the idea that the visitors should leave something there to show who they are should be clear. This is the place where to leave the card. You have to use it with some kind of plate, or just drop it onto the plate, I think.

You have most likely identified the correct house at Nob Hill, but aus usual, the front entrance is not the way to enter it. Instead, look for a way to enter the house from below. The starting point of this way can be found at the underground railway which you should have noticed already when travelling into the church. The place from where you enter the Lady's house is at the other end of the railway. I think it is the Masterson shipping company, but I am not 100% sure. You can either travel to that place on foot, or with the railway "car" if it is still functional and if you have found the codes for the destinations in a storage room nearby.

Once you are there and in the rooms of the company, you should find another way below ground which ends at a wall with a secret door. There should be a pipe nearby with a wheel you can turn. This opens the secret door, and you will emerge in one of the rooms of Lady Bafford's residence.


MrMunkeepants, to gain access to the church and Lady Bafford's house, you should look in the sub-basement of the mercantile insurance building. Examine the elevator carefully to find a clue. If you don't see it: There is a button or switch near one of the elevator "stations" that open the way down to the very bottom of the elevator shaft.

I do not remember whether the button makes a metal plate at the bottom slide aside so that the elevator platform can now travel further down (which would be done with the lowest of the standard elevator buttons then), or whether the metal plate at the bottom actually is a second elevator (which would mean you have to step off the "normal" elevator, send it up with one of the elevator buttons, and then step onto the lower, second elevator platform and drive down with that one) - but one of these two possibilities should be the solution to that puzzle.
