However, if you have not installed these scripts and install them now, you must play the whole mission again, since saved games created while playing without scripts will not use the scripts even if you install them afterwards.
OH SHI-
Well, at least now I know what may be the problem. :cheeky:
Btw, no words can describe how awesome this mission is and I will continue praising it after I finished it. ; )

I can't find an answer to my question in the treads. What is the combination in the dark zone? I have the last two numbers as 4 and 3, but the rest elude me.
Never mind. Found it.

DrK,
First of all, I wanted to thank you for the great experiences you gave me with your Rocksbourg missions so far. Your work I will never forget, mostly because of your hellish pets and the creations of your distorted mind!
(Meant that as a compliment! :D)
I am waiting anxiously on the next parts of the series, also due to the fact that I need to be released from some questions that keep haunting me.
This brings me to my questions about Ink & Dust, your most impressive mission in my opinion - yet...
--Ink & Dust. Even after playing your campaign a second time, I kept forgetting if it was Dust or Dusk. It is a great title as it just sounds very good, but that one little character keeps bothering me. Why is it dust? I don't really find your third part dusty, it's rather dark and it is getting darker throughout the mission, making dusk more appropriate - in my opinion. Also, Garrett will find a way to stop the outbreak of the undead plague, thus there's still some light at the far end.
In-game:
--What is the point of the kind of 'explosions' and fire that come out of the ceiling in the North Star? Is it a method of keeping the temperature up underground, like a heater? Did I miss a text that explains the phenomenon? (For sounds: snd --> SFX --> puff2)*
--I killed the poor Interpreter Thasel with his own Dark Grenade. Practically, I caused his death, and you're not allowed to kill any important member of the order. However, the mission did not end after he died. So... is he no longer an important member, as he lost his mind?
--I would really like to know who commands the running statues. Did I - again - miss out on some scripture? Have we already met the character in the missions? Will I find answers when I knock out the running statue? (You stated in an earlier post that it is possible.) Is it 'just' Interpreter Thales helping you? Or will we find answers as the campaign continues and Garrett reaches the Cathedral?
Another question:
--In the game files, there is a sound of a girl screaming (file name: kar1602GRC)*. In which part of the mission can that sound be heard? The Dark Zone? I was quite impressed when I heard it - and I can't remember hearing it in-game. (Perhaps too soft?)
And what about the sounds of creatures I have not seen or heard in Ink & Dust, like in the map 'Appar'*? Please, tell me where I can hear / find them in the mission, I want to be scared again! :o Is it an easter egg?
*Sorry I'm nosing about your files, but I am fascinated by the sounds and voice acting you used!
Phew, that was it.... for now.... :ebil: I truly hope I will find (some of) my questions answered (by you or anyone else that is able to help me). 'Cause if there is one way to cram more misery of unanswered questions into a person's brains... I can't think of it...
Thanks in advance!

Well I actually tried to make it look and feel dusty. You know, ancient order, secretive, old library... That's basically how I see the keepers, except these are darker. So "dust" sounded better for me, plus you already know it's gonna be dark, you're playing DARK project, didn't want to use a synonym or whatever. ;)
Keep in mind I'm french, the original title is "Encre et poussière" = ink and dust.

How can you be so sure about it ? :)

In fact it's dust going down from the ceiling after a hit or a little eathquake, not fire... It's just like a heartbeat, it doesn't really make sense. The North Star corridors keep changing shape from time to time (not in the fm, can't do miracles with dromed), so they are believed to be alive. I think it was mentionned somewhere in a text. Anyway, just something odd, it's what you want it to be. ;)

Probably a bug, nothing more. Not a big deal, is it ? :cheeky:

Who controls them in Thief 3 ?
Just a little reference...

Another question: SOUNDS
All the sounds are in the Dark Zone, just parts of the ambient sounds.
I tried to get the closest possible to LGS' work. Of course there is my touch to make it look and feel different, but something I loved about the thief series is the strong and deep background. So strong even nowadays there are still debates in this community about the characters, the story ("what if blahblah", "was he that good" and stuff...). So I tried to recreate this, to make the Rocksbourg series deeper than it looks, to keep questions unanswered, open to interpretation and imagination.
Looks like it works :p

Thanks for the very fast reply! You haven't posted here in a while if I am correct.

I should have thought of that myself... Well, thanks for clarifying anyways!:p

I'm sure of it, as the Builder himself!
Your missions belong in the time span between the Dark Project and The Metal Age. Thus, Garrett cannot die, for that would ruin the fact that you tried to add a great storyline to the existing game. Garrett couldn't possibly appear in the Metal Age anymore, resulting in your storyline to be a failure. :joke: Sorry, but that are facts!
Conclusion: things turn out well enough for Garret and the Old City (as the plague cannot reach it, read above.) What happens to Rocksbourg and its inhabitants / the Souls and so on, is up to you, of course!EDIT:
Correction: So, I'm only sure that the plague will not leave the city of Rocksbourg (impenetrable walls and such). Nothing further! :)Quote Posted by DrK

I should have guessed that myself too, but alas... perhaps I was too terrified at those moments...
But it still looks kinda like fire sparks! :cheeky:Quote Posted by DrK

As it is a
secret, I'll agree at this point. Plus he's a poor guy. Garrett should indeed take him out of his miseries.

Yup, old
Haggy! But I would like to have a clue / answer on why on earth she would help Garrett, or what she wants from the Souls, letting her puppets open up secret passages? You giving answers in following parts? *greedy* ;)Quote Posted by DrK

Yes, you do well at that point, but I just wanted to know what the creator thought of his own creations. I like to be 'close to the storyline' in order to get the best out of it and not losing what it's all about. Happens when you are thinking about things yourself. You come up with conclusions that will perhaps pose a problem in the upcoming storyline. I know it sounds vague, apologies for that, but it's kinda hard to explain.
Thanks again for your time!

That's because the fans are bombarding him with threats and spam mail, since he still has not finished Rocksbourg 4!:ebil:

His missions belong into the time
after "The Metal Age", since Karras' fate is already mentioned in the briefing movie for the first Rocksbourg mission. But maybe you meant the timespan between "The Metal Age" and "Deadly Shadows". In that case,
maybe a secret keeper book contains the explanation - Garrett has died but was replaced with another keeper for whatever reason; maybe the books said it would be like that. Which would explain why he's harder to control in the third game, can't swim anymore, and sees the night in blue instead of black.:cheeky:
Evelin Ash on 30/5/2010 at 14:33
Aye, it was my mistake. Thank you for pointing that out. And yes, that might just be the case! Like Garrett's 180 degree headspin. When walking away when his face is looking backwards, whole his body turns in the direction of his head, making Garrett do a circle-like movement. Perhaps he was made into a droid by the Builder's Children after he died. That would explain why he can't swim and can't use rope arrows...

I've got an unusual bug, doesn't affect gameplay but it's weird.
Inthe Vine Zone, the treebeast has a model of a giant Soul instead of a treebeast
It's pretty funny to see it behave like it should, but the glitched model is offputting and makes it difficult to properly aim my swings.
DrK on 11/8/2010 at 16:38
That's not a bug, that was voluntary. His skin is a mix between a treebeast and a soul.
However, the fact you can't hit him is a bug...

Yeah, after I found the book in Tehsal's (or whoever the heck is connected to the Light Zone) room, it made sense. I could hit him, just his hit zone was very high up. Swinging at the legs or waist did nothing.
