Where are Thesal's quarters?

Thesal's quarters are in the North Star, nearby the light aera (door with yellowish light, above a big hole to the workshops).
You must enter the light aera first to get into his quarters.
And about the objects needed for the keys, their locations was given many times in this thread. Also I think BrokenArts did a post with everything listed.
Found back something about the keys I wrote a while back on another forum. These are the objects you need to create the keys :
LIGHT
- An eye : what permits interpretation of light
(northstar kitchen)
- Phosporescent product : what permits creation of light, it's what's inside the flares and the glowing mushrooms of the game.
(workshops storeroom)
DARKNESS
- Rotten flesh : sounds cute enough for darkness
(northstar kitchen)
- Mechanist mask : mankind's madness
(southstar bedrooms, in a footlocker)
FIRE
- Salamander blood : salamander is some kind of a lizard, but in the myth it's a legendary creature who lives in the fire.
(lowest level of the main room in northstar, where there is a meeting)
- Piece of charcoal : what remains from a fire, piece of burnt wood
(northstar kitchen, fireplace)
WATER
- Distilled water : water used in chemistry and other. Still water.
(workshops)
- Bag of fish scales : well, it's pretty obvious
(southstar kitchen)
EARTH
- Burricks excrements : burricks live in the ground, right ?
(northstar bedrooms, in a little storeroom)
- Sand of burnt lands : the sand sounds pretty related to earth to me, as well as the word "land"
(southstar storeroom)
AIR
- pieces of air crystal : "air crystal" anyone ?
(southstar scriptorium)
- elementals tears (or breath, can't remember) : this one might be tricky, but elementals are these floating entities from the first Thief, you know. Mostly related to fire, just imagine one related to air would exist.
(Thales quarters in southstar)
VINE
- Trickster's herb : no comment
(southstar kitchen)
- Bag of cursed seeds : seeds which got corrupted by pagan magic
(southstar storeroom)
ICE
- Ice dust : some kind of a sand made of ice...
(southstar storeroom)
- Maintenance freezing : used in the workshop to cool down the machines
(workshops storeroom)
Comes to think of it, there are several things hidden in the mission, and I never really gave a list or something. So let's talk about the official and non-official secrets (only betatesters were aware of this) :
1 - Did you find the 10 secrets of the mission ?
2 - Did you find all the paintings of the mission (bonus objective) ?
3 - Did you find half the loot of the mission (bonus objective) ?
4 - Did you find ALL the loot of the mission (bonus objective) ?
5 - Did you try to knockout the running statue ?
6 - Did you find the reference to the hag from Thief 3 ?
7 - Did you find the reference to Gaetane's L'arsene series ?
8 - Did you find the reference to Purah ?
9 - Did you find the references to a few fan-missions ? (quite free to interpretation actually, so...)
10 - Did you find all the 16 objects required to create the keys ?
11 - Did you visit each Elemental zone ?
12 - Did you see the perfectly round ceiling, hidden somewhere in the south star ?
13 - Did you find the streets of the previous missions, drawn on the Rocksbourg map ?
14 - Did you find the only way to break the mission ? (by that, I mean going beyond the limits, going to places you weren't supposed to go)

I did find all the stuff for the elemental keys - but I did a search for the light zone and dark zone keys and didn't find anything. But that certainly can be because I am an idiot. ;) So thanks for that addition to the list as well...
I really enjoy playing this and haven't really had to search for hints too much. I found Theral's quarters - just didn't notice the sign by it till much later. :D
I am not liking being in the dark zone... :(
Is there any way I can avoid this area? :D

Nope. This area is for keeping away the unworthy and the queasy. A true test of faith.
Plus, it's awesome. :P I love the Silent Hill-esque thick atmosphere. The couple of cheap scares were neat as well. Thief needs more horror! :D

Am I the only one who just can't find the door that matches the ice key? I've been to the seven other rooms, have both gems and the book and am just looking to complete secrets/loot/paintings. Plus, I just want to get into each door.
But I can't seem to find it. At the beginning of the North Star there's a tale of an accident - does that mean the ice area no longer exists or is inaccessible?

This is arguably my favourite set of fan missions, eclipsing even thief 2x which I enjoyed.
The atmosphere is fantastic and the storyline works well alongside the thief storyline perfectly.
I apologise if this has been answered allready... are you working on part 4 of the series?

Dr. K - I want to thank you for the several small heart attacks I had in the dark zone. :cheeky:
It was a great mission which I will play again once I have desensitized myself to the dark zone. ;)
By the way - the music in Thale's quarters (the guy who put Garrett up to all this)-is my absolute favorite. I vaguely remember it from Deadly Shadows, but I am not sure which part. Does anyone here remember?

What is That? I thought pieces of air crystal would be like the rest of a used gas arrow, but Garrett just keeps hurting himself using those :confused:
How many paintings are there anyways? I got 11 so far...
