The auxiliary lamp is one time only with a near-dead battery. If you turn it on and wait you can see it slowly dim until it no longer shines.

Thanks for the mission - execellent. I finished on Expert with 11 of 16 secrets. Couple of queries:
1. What does the switch underneath a shelf in the Maintenance Room do?
2. Is it possible to get into the High Priest's room?

Marbrien that switch is one of four that are needed to open something.
The High Priest's room is not accessible but if you manage to get in the mission will fail. There's nothing to find in there anyway.

OK, I'll leave that room alone.

Clues: There is a scroll in the proximity as where the maintenance room key is found. This scroll will give clues but the clues are rather limited on Expert.

A tiny little loot-related bug to report in case this mission ever needs an update:
on ground-floor, north-west corner, there are two thrones with 5 statues. The coin - as described in the lootlist - is there and visible, but it absolutely is impossible to frob.

I'm not so sure about that - I have the same exact bug/glitch as you had. And I also fired up the lamp and then went elsewhere, came back and the lamp was off.
Now the gear is unfrobbable regardless how often I restart the generator.
However, I call it quits as I won't restart the whole mission only to be able to exit.

Evidently I am not the only one who can not find the maintenance key. Others reply they have found it. I have been playing for 3 hours now and evidently I need the maintenance key to proceed. Can someone tell me where it is please.
