Trying to get into the library, but the door is locked. Tried to access it via the vents, but the metal grate won't move.
The library door can indeed be locked, but my notes don't say anything about non-moving metal grates. Does the grate you suspect to be the right one light up at all? Can you describe from where you accessed the ventilation shafts?

The grate doesn't light up at all, it seems non frobbable. And I don't find any switch.
So if the library door can be locked, how do I get into it?
Will try to post a snapshot

The library is usually accessed via one of the ventilation shafts, and the key for the library door can be found inside the library. I don't remember whether it is different for some difficulty levels, but my notes do not contain any hint to that. Neither does Ricebug's walkthru for the campaign.
My best guess is that you somehow try to use the wrong grate to enter the library. Unfortunately, I did not note anything useful to find the right way to the vents near the library, and I cannot play the mission right now to check it out.

Ok, problem solved, don't laugh at me...... :D
The objective to lock the guy into the library had not appeared yet........
Now the library is open!!!!!

I just finished this campaign for the first time. It was very enjoyable. I thought it started out kind of generic but quickly escalated into an epic. Many thanks to all those involved in its development.

Good heavens another one I haven't played, what the hell was I doing that I missed two major campaigns ?
Hmmm does anyone else get worried when they build up an arsenal that could take out an army ?

First I couldn't pass through a small opening to get the first crystal - finally I found the reason:
I had disabled Head bobbing by setting bob_factor from 0.3 to 0.0 in Newdark's 'cam_ext.cfg'.
I wonder whether this is a known effect of that option.

Hello all. Speaking to you from the quarantine of 2020 :D What an incredible game. Just finished it. Well done.

Just replayed this great campaign.
First played it soon after it came out.
Enough time has passed that I could not remember "how and what" even when memory of the areas themselves flashed back to me. Thus, it was very fresh to play.
I had forgotten what an epic story and game this was.
Enormous fun and very rewarding.
Golden Age stuff, for sure.

Such an awesome campaign, thank you very much for this nicked! :thumb: Each mission was cooler than the one before & I enjoyed myself throughout the whole campaign.
At first I was a bit hesitant to play it because of the skeleton-in-the-tomb startscreen, but it turned out there were nearly no haunts in the whole campaign. Pretty cool! :D
Great story, great atmosphere, great characters, great architecture. Everything was done great. My personal favourites were the "riddles", like the one with the water on-switches and the ones in the last mission.
I´ve got one question though: Who is the german voice actor of garrett in this campaign? I´ve heard him several times by now and gotta say he´s really good :)
Though I have no idea what garrett meant at the end when he said he has lots to think about like he doesn´t know what he achieved.. Isn´t it obvious? He saved the world yet again & got lots of gold out of it. What´s better than that?! :cheeky:
