I've tried to play the pack, but after installing it in Garretloader, when i press play, the original Thief interface appears. The one with "Start game" and Running Interference...
It's odd, because Garret the young years 1 (as a separate mission) works just fine. Any advices?!

What about the file strings/missflag.str? Has it been installed properly?
How can I check if it's installed properly? Where GarretLoader installs the missflag.str?

Still doesn't work.
I don't have a dark2 folder.
I have a Thief2 folder, in which there are all the files of original thief game and in which the fan missions install various objects, scripts, etc.
I manually copied the missions miss20, miss21, etc and made a string folder. Pressing play, it enters the missions but it looks very odd, all blue, probably beacause the garret loader doesn't load any of the new textures.
In my Thief 2 there is a RES folder, in which are many .crf files, for example books.crf. And no Books folder.
In your zip files, there is a folder called Books.
I suppose it's hard to install manually all of the features.
So my next question is: it's possible to install Darkloader, without unistalling Garretloader?

Yes, it's perfectly ok to have both Garrettloader and DarkLoader installed at the same time, I had them on my previous rig because I needed DarkLoader for some FM which I dont recall what it was.
Just remember to uninstall the FM when changing loaders. Fex. playing GYY on Garrett and switching to Dark then uninstall GYY on Garrett and then reinstall on Dark. A bit silly example but the principle is there to avoid any install errors.
GarrettLoader 1.42 works perfectly fine with Garrett's Young Years XTra, I'm playing it right now and I currently use only GarrettLoader. So IMO there is no need to switch from GL to DL.

I have Garret Loader 1.41. Didn't know about 1.42.
I will try to install the new version.
later edit: I didn't find it on the (
http://www.potterdevelopments.org.uk/fm/main.pl).
I saw an announcement (from 2008) that they will release 1.42, but no download link.

what are you downloading?!
I didn't find any 1.42 on that site.
I found a link here, on this forum, when I performed a search with the key words: garretloader 1.42.
I installed it and it works just fine.
In the end, it was a good oportunity to find out about the update and get new. :)
I started to play and I am very pleased by the mission so far. One remark though: if Garret is a teenager, then from where he got the improved vision (the mechanical eye will be given to Garret, only after the events of Thief 1). I don't know much about the technical stuff, but isn't it possible to block the improved vision that the thief2 engine came with?
I'm in a room with
two women, one in front of a open window (across the inventor house) and one sleeping on the bed. It's a stair to an attic. I tried to climb up there for 10 minutes now, but no luck yet. Is it possible
to get to the attic. Should I try another 10 minutes? :)

Might I suggest sending the walkthrough to another site as thiefmissions is pretty much dead.
Where can we get it? Thanks a bunch! :thumb::angel:

I've finished the first mission from the pack. Very good mission.
I liked very much the plot (all of different stories, but that had something in common one with the others), the fact that the mission kept me very busy (so many things to do, so many loot to find -even when I said to myself "ok, that must be all the loot", I discovered yet another thing to loot), the surprise with the blackjack.
The Fridolin objective was awesome and surprising. Reminded me a little bit of the style of Ominous Bequest. I must confess that event though usually I search under elevators, this time I didn't despite the fact that the inventor's diary contains the smelly hint. So I finished it with a little help from the walkthrough, because I lost my patience after seeing that the servant from the Count mansion wasn't Fridolin, the only solution possible for a living Fridolin.
I rated this mission 8/10, for the original concept (the lost years), the link with the future features of original Metal Age (Karas evolution, inventions, etc), and the above mentioned facts. Not more because of the poorer design and a small inconsistency with the child Garret paradigm (the mechanical eye present, the height of an adult despite the fact that we know that at the moment of encounter of the Keepers by Garret, he was a child).

In GYY2 There is a secret in the hammer church that cannot be reached. Each time I jump up, Garrett cannot get a grip on to the ledge.
