It's unclear to me as to how Garrett came into possession of the letter from Lord Edmund to Lady Bernhard seen in the briefing. As far as I could tell, there is no explanation of this. Did I miss something?

I reckon he was looting Lady Bernhard's manor at the time. :cheeky:

Finally, I come to play this old but great mission. Right now I´m just checking out the classics which I haven´t done in the past. Yeah, there are just too many good FMs out there, no time to play´em all. :(
Nevertheless, I´ve got a problem with Lord Edmund. The only thing I need to enter the vault is the Duke´s key. I searched an hour for it now, but I just can´t find it.I read somewhere that it should be in the market place but I don´t have the key to open the blue door. I know that this will probably be something totally obvious, as always. Could somebody help me?

i havent played that level in a while, but i think there is a key in one of the guest rooms inside the mansion. I think its an "unmarked key" which unlocks the blue door in the market, the dukes key is inside there. Hope that helps

Dr_Frimzaar has you pointed in the right direction.
The bedroom where you find the key has a locked door but you can get in through a fireplace in the room you walk through before you enter the small sitting area by the bedrooms.
Thanks, guys. :cheeky:
There was a secret door in the fire place. Pretty tricky.
At last I can move on to the Vigil. :thumb:

Now that Demandred has been helped, I'm going to hijack his thread! :cheeky:
I'm also currently replaying Lord Edmund on Expert, and was wondering about a few things. How is Lord Edmund himself "supposed" to be dealt with? I find it easiest to flashbang/blackjack him. But I somehow get the idea that the author intends that Garrett should kill him. One expert objective is not to kill any guards, but apparently, Lord Edmund himself is fair game.
Also, in The Vigil, one finds a note in the guard HQ that some criminal has been picked up in relation to the murders of Lord Edmund and his guests.
Thing is, Lord Edmund seems to pretty much invulnerable to swords and arrows.
And also, is there any use for the Holy Water one picks up in mansion?

OK, maybe I'm blind, but where the heck is Edmund, and the Lady? I know they are in some basement room, but the only basement room I can seem to find is the one in which I entered from off the market street, and the fire arrow trap/vault. Please help!
