Just curious...when I grabbed the sword, even though I had about 3200 loot, my 2500 loot objective unchecked...has anyone else had this problem?

It's not impossible Sam,
I got all of the loot in that giant room without losing one health point and was able to retrieve all the arrows to boot! True, it took quite a while but I did it.

Yes, I managed to get the loot in that room and get back down with all my hit points but it took a lot of reloads! It is possible, though, with perseverance.

Yes Travis I noticed the same thing. I got the sword early in the game and noticed that my loot count all went to 0's and thought I would have to start over. But when I grab some more loot my counts came back.
Other that! I found this to be a very interesting and entertaining FM.

-Hm...Intresting. So, if you take the sword, your loot set to zero?...This is terrible...
-Could you do the giant room?...My God! These taffers are the masters...I couldn't do it...but I made the mission...:laff: Good.
Hmm. I played my FM yesterday again and I found some small bugs in it. Very small bugs but I think if I fix them, the mission will be more enjoyable...
So, my question is: Would you like a version 1.7?
Spamlet on 20/10/2002 at 09:12
I'd love it if you'd fix those things. That sword bug keeps you from being able to complete on expert if you didn't find it early on!
As I said in an earlier post on this thread this mission is fun and atmospheric. The one big thing I wish you'd reconsider fixing is not having the diary, books and signs and stuff in English. Without that we never got the story. I kept wondering who could've built this weird place and how? It didn't make sense to me where exactly I was since the architecture of different areas didn't seem to fit together. Plus you had undead but you also had this suggestion of tiny people and giants. Do they live together in harmony or did they somehow get the undead to protect their treasures or what? Without that stuff being clear, the giant room seemed totally out of place in this mission unlike the area in The Sword (which judging by this mission must have been one of your favorites) where you knew why it was there and it made complete sense for it to be there. Hopefully some of those answers were in the texts which were in Hungarian (which by the way is my family's heritage on my mother's side but unfortunately I can't read it).

I begun to make a patch 1.7 (ENG) for my first FM (The Item)
- I try to translate the texts...But I can't speak English very well. I translate them, next I send the text files to NightWalker and she fix the English texts better. Then she send me back them, and I put them into the new version,
- I will fix the music of the level. I think it is a bit strange...
- The story is connect to my Hungarian Thief book what I write...so I translate the story text but I don't know, will you understand the whole story...
Stay in the dark site, taffer...:cheeky:

The Sword is not a bug with the loot total. If you scroll through your inventory, you'll find that the sword has it's own loot total, of "0", but your other loot total still exists separately, which is why it seems to come back when you pick something else up. It just pops up in your inventory, but it was still there all along.
I'd be pleased to help you with the texts, Sam2 = Sam. Just send the stuff to me when you're ready. :)

I might be able to help out with the translation. I became conversational in Hungarian when I lived there (Tatan laktam egy eve). But I haven't used the language in over eight years, so I'm very rusty. Let me know, though, if I can be of some assistance.
Sok szerencset!

That's true about 2 separate loot totals NW,
However, even though my loot total was over 3000 after I picked up the sword (which was the last thing I found) the box for the loot objective unchecked itself and when I got to the exit it wouldn't give me the mission complete screen. Trust me. That sword's definitely a bug causer if you pick it up too late in the game. Glad to hear you'll be helping w/ translation! I'm anxious to read what I missed.
