This is a T1 mission, not T2.

Just decided to replay this one, and am having major issues with Mercedes in the final section. After emerging from the sewers, she says "Now try to keep up" and starts walking. Well on the first slope she stops, looks around and calls out "Garrett, where are you?" but never moves again. I have reloaded and tried several times, but always the same outcome.
Edit: Just tried it in the olddark version, and it worked just fine.

I have also just played it with New Dark, on Expert. Mercedes stopped for me a short way after she started walking. I went back and had a look in the house near where she was originally standing
(with the frog beasts in it), then went ahead
and used my blackjack to deal with the two assassins waiting for her. THEN she started walking again and we went to her apartment, so I was able to finish the mission.

I restarted the mission and it worked the second time. Something was wrong with Mercedes not detecting me the first time. Then I managed to lure the thieves over to her, she killed them and then finally kept moving, but something was obviously messed up.

I've noticed some weird discrepancies in ratings for the two versions of this mission on thiefguild.com. Like at least one person rating the original a 9 or 10, and the new version a 1 or 2. What could be the meaning of this?

It is really cute how Mercedes is calling out for you at the end if you run off to grab the last of the loot in the level.
Very hard to get max loot unless you play with a lootlist or track your purchases. Unless you got all of the loot as you played, which I nearly did. Missed the sword, stack of gold coins and two bottles of wine in the streets.
I did get the art collector bug where the second digit would never be correct. Frustratingly, I had this bug happen during my playthrough with the old version, so I restarted using the New Dark version and got the bug again. Fortunately, resetting the puzzle (keep pressing the check button) worked in the new dark version where it didn't in the old patched version. I was happy about that as I concerned I would have to restart the mission and go to Art Collector first in order to avoid the bug. Something odd about that second digit.

I just discovered this reboot of CC, thereby prompting me to play it again. Thanks.
OMG! I had forgotten how convoluted and involved this mission was.
I had to reference the original game thread from 2000 several times.
No wonder this was one of the first really classic fan missions.

mini dml courtesy Baeuchlein to fix one of the big levers in the basement of the party area that is meant to turn some lights on in the machinery.
Code:
