I love Calendra's Cistern, as well, but there are tons of other FMs that you'll enjoy just as much, for both T1 & T2. The Order of the Vine is fantastic, as is Mystery Man, just to mention a couple of T1 missions. The T2 ones are fantastic for the most part. Wait until you've played Hallucinations, Insurrection, Calendra's Legacy, Crom's Blade, The Art of Thievery.... I could go on listing them for ages. You've got lots ahead of you and you won't find that CC has spoiled it for you at all, just given you a taste of what you can expect to enjoy. :)

I just finished this FM and it is without doubt the best Thief work ever done. Much better than any of the original missions too. If you have not played this one, do it now. It will completely blow you away. Tremendous architecture, numersous great converations, terrific gameplay, challange, etc. To show you how much I loved it, I finished it before work to day at 5:45am!!!!
To the team that did it - all I can say is WOWWWWWWWWWWW. Incredible work. It makes a dopey taffer who has done one FM and it working on a second feel embarrased. However, it is nice to be in the company of greatness!
Thanks for the fun!

ps: If I were in charge of the T3 project at Ion Storm, I would have just hired this team on day 1 to do T3. I would look like a genius (without doing anything great) and we would all be playing T3 today! I can't imaging T3 could be better than Calendra's Cistern.

Yeah I remember playing Calendra's Cistern and being spellbound but there are so many Thief fan missions that I think parallel the work of the original. Lampfire Hills, Raid on Washout Central, A Smuggler's Request and Lorgan's Web to name but a few. My point is that your fun is by no means over :)
If you like that I recommend the sequel "Calendra's Legacy" - for it is astounding.
If you don't have Thief 2 - The Order of The Vine is brilliant. I recommend that.

I haven't seen that one yet! :wot:
If it has great Architecture then i would like to see it. I love the Architecture side of building missions. ;)
I'm crap with everything else though so i gave up making missions. Well, what's the point of having good architecture but crap mission(s) and Lighting i ask thee?

i might just be me, but i wasn't impressed by calendra's legacy. yeah, it was big, and interesting, but the second mission, sprawling, too many bonus objectives, took forever to get through it. mostly because i was dodging monsters. when i finally got the cup thing back and melted it i was like, "what, thats it" i've heard there are other objectives involving special jewels and stuff, but the clues were spread to far for me to even care. in the third mission whats with the key that destroys itself? you have 3 doors you'd like to open with a key, but only get to use it once. so if you open the armory gate for more gear, well your stuck.

Who did the voice acting on Calendra's Cistern? it sounds like one or two people might have done the original TDP/T2M voice acting? its really well done (in some areas)
Yandros on 14/4/2007 at 04:11
Loanstar did Garrett, I'm not sure who did Mercedes. Was it Ms Ledd?
KhAoZ on 14/4/2007 at 05:26
i wasn't talking about them... i meant the guards like the one that says "Do u remember when the Baron's police took down the gate?" it sounded like it was the same actor that voiced a guard in the original TDP.

Well, I'm pretty sure it wasn't, but don't know who it was. If you had asked a more specific question in the first place, you wouldn't have gotten an answer you weren't looking for. :tsktsk:
