I don't think that has anything to do with this particular mission. Have you played any other missions for Thief 1? Do you have convist.osm?

heh, HERE's a bug..
You can run into Merceadies outside Calendra's bar half-way through the mission. She just walks up and down the stairs...
Also, where the heck does she go when you follow her down into the party? >=P

This might seem odd, but have you actually gone to the store (the tower near the start) and purchased some equipment?
Other than that, the bug does sound vaguely familiar. Try searching Thief General. Lack of convict.osm is highly probable.

Just a note to the author's of Calendra's Cistern. I'm getting quite a laugh from the names you give to the various guards. "Gordon Lightfoot" made me spit out my cola. And when I found out I knocked out Billy Squire, I tossed him in the canal (it was worth dying for)
