Have you ever wanted to play
Calendra's Cistern but could not, because of a slow connection or dodgy download-continuity software? Here's your solution:
Download all nine of the following files:
* (
http://pantheon.yale.edu/~dcbyron/screenshots/ccnm/ccaa.zip) ccaa.zip (2MB)
* (
http://pantheon.yale.edu/~dcbyron/screenshots/ccnm/ccab.zip) ccab.zip (2MB)
* (
http://pantheon.yale.edu/~dcbyron/screenshots/ccnm/ccac.zip) ccac.zip (2MB)
* (
http://pantheon.yale.edu/~dcbyron/screenshots/ccnm/ccad.zip) ccad.zip (2MB)
* (
http://pantheon.yale.edu/~dcbyron/screenshots/ccnm/ccae.zip) ccae.zip (2MB)
* (
http://pantheon.yale.edu/~dcbyron/screenshots/ccnm/ccaf.zip) ccaf.zip (2MB)
* (
http://pantheon.yale.edu/~dcbyron/screenshots/ccnm/ccag.zip) ccag.zip (2MB)
* (
http://pantheon.yale.edu/~dcbyron/screenshots/ccnm/ccah.zip) ccah.zip (260k)
* (
http://pantheon.yale.edu/~dcbyron/screenshots/ccnm/ccbuild.zip) ccbuild.zip (1k)
Here are the installation instructions:
* Unzip
all nine archives into a single folder. The unzipped files are named ccaa, ccab, ccac, ccad, ccae, ccaf, ccag, ccah, and calendra.bat.
* Doubleclick
calendra.bat. The file
CalendraNM.zip will be created, and the "cc" files and calendra.bat will be deleted. "NM" stands for "Null Movies".
[/list=a]
I urge you to play this brilliant fan mission, especially if you enjoy climbing, rooftop hopping, and excellent level architecture.
Cheers,
G.

woah!.....i believe the term is: tour de force.
I've just played this mission and it has to go down as probably the best FM i've ever played. I thought that the architecture even put some of the OM's to shame.
Brilliant voice acting, depth and complexity in the storyline, a feeling that Garrett is embroiled in a set of events beyond his control, and a general level of polish combined with a number of cool features and extras all added up to the most fun i've had with Thief for ages.
This is well worth the long download. Cheers again to Grundbegriff for putting up a smaller version of it. And kudos to Purah, Totality, Thumper, Loanstar and Deep Qantas.
PS. I missed out on the movies. Would anyone care to offer their opinion of these and/or a short description on what I missed, including whether they are good enough to warrant downloading the much larger file?

Would anyone care to offer their opinion of ... whether they are good enough to warrant downloading the much larger file?Graphically, the briefing is similar in quality and style to the OM briefings. The answer about whether to download the movies depends partly on how you feel about Mercedes' voice acting. The briefing's voiceover is her reading the "BRIEFING LETTER" section of
calendra.txt. If you like her acting, then downloading would be worthwhile. If her acting makes you wince, downloading might be inadvisable. Of course, that might be trumped by a pressing desire to see the still images and occasional ripple effects.
The
success.avi is LoanStar's admirable voiceover as Garrett, reflecting on the mission's outcome during a sequence of image and credit cuts.
Cheers,
G.

I would certainly download them, as they are the best Fan Made movies for Thief I've seen yet! (thought the CoSaS teaser trailer is very excellent as well). I think the CC movies really add to the mission, both before and after, with some great original art and cool music, not to mention their other qualities

Well i went ahead and downloaded the larger version of
Calendra's...Unfortunately i only got to see the briefing movie (the success avi is coming up with a 'invalid compressed data to inflate'
message and won't unzip. Any ideas Grundbegriff?). Kind of a shame as i was wanting to see if Garrett would score with Mercedes
Inline Image:
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif The briefing movie is indeed excellent.
The entire mission was so good that it raised the bar for me of what one can expect from a FM. My efforts with Dromed seem feeble indeed in comparison..
