Did the manual for SS1 have anything along those lines?
I just looked through my manual, there are no pictures of any close up human faces. There are plenty of robots and odd quotes about being 'Jacked in' though. :p

That charger looks hot man...however it deviates a bit too much from the conventional design and although it is highly detailed, the boosting cables are sort of crude and counter-intuitive, particularly if the hacker's presumably internal battery is to connect to this machine. But this is in no way a crit of your modelling skills.

Looks like the energy station is running Windows. Thats more or less uncomfortable. Last thing we need is to be running around, in dire need of energy, just to have to restart the energy station cause of a fatal error with the energy output hardwarew, and the drivers not being compatible, or if the user forgets to keep the terminal logged in, "Energy station locked by administrator" just to havr you need to unlock it to charge. Thou now that I think about it, that might be an interesting thing .. "Power terminal locked by user SHODAN" and you need to disconnect her from the station then hack to get the password .. oy durm it now im on both ends!! .. crap, im gonna stop thinking about it, or else I will come up with more plot ideas ...
Awesome looking model.

I like the rest of the stuff you've done, but I have to say the charge station just looks silly. Why would the hacker charge himself with huge jumper cables? It's unique, but it doesn't fit. The screen is kind of extraneous as well - even today, most devices that need charging have their own meters. Unless you're going for something else with that.

Well I like it
Don't be silly, as long as it looks swell it's fine :thumb:

I think it looks fine. There are more things in the Shock universe that make a lot less sense. ;)

you make a strong point. In fact the original charging station left much to be desired. It was just a tower of sorts with no particulars rendered in.
On the other hand I think we know why this is the case. Aside from the fact that 3d was just coming into its own and framerates were not great, its pretty hard to design something believeable that interfaces with a human brain (or organ in general) to feed electricity into it. You wouldn't be able to tell its function anyway unless you put a lot of detail into it. So i'm sure LG just came up with something generic and gave it a name and that was that, take it or leave it type thing.
Now that we have the capability to do more with models, we could make something much more articulated but I think its an unnecessary extrapolation since we have all become comfortable with the familiar form of the charging station and so unless somebody has a fantastic idea for a design that is highly intuitive and beautiful...

That's the reason why I'd be leery about anything but a straight remake; Most of the design in SS1 is preposterously stylised and not realistic in the least. Because, of course, it wasn't practical to make realistic looking stuff in those days. Detailing and deviating too much just opens the door to questioning the game's myriad design oddities that we let slide because graphics were more representational back then. (What is with all those huge 20 degree edges in the Med halls anyway? The place looks like a damn skateboard park.)
Not that it's any skin off my nose what people want to do, of course.

haha, wait, the cyberjack looking things? Werent those taken?
