JukkaKevät, Your skill scares me. How long have to been moddelling/texuring for??

It's much but for the purpose just fine. The model is alone with no other objects beside it.
Well, that would be way too much for SS2 to handle, at any rate, unless it was split into around 8 objects.. (SS2 object polygon limit is around 1,000 polies).

I had a big post thought up, but instead I'm just going to ask "where is this project going?"

I opened up a 3D-app first time about five years ago, but actively been modelling about three years. I learned to texture just during the winter. It is still my weakest area, along with the inability to draw things from my imagination...

The bed alone without all the pipes is about a 1000 from where few hundred can be easily removed by smart texturing. The compressor weigths about 600.

JukkaKevät: Ok well in that case, to what extent was your plan? As in how far with the modeling were you planning on going? Since if you mapped out all of the SS1 levels including cyberspace, and did all the models and textures (which with even just that done would be pretty damn sweet btw) you would have effectively 60% of the conversion done, with only sound, music, movies and AI and programming work needing to be done. But yeah, even if thats all you do, I`m happy with that.

Dunno, have to check once the first level starts to form :)
In the meantime, the MEDBOT!

edit: oh yeah, the thing in his hands read: "Severe neurosurgery carried out, must be kept in coma at all times"

Very good looking model, I hope I'll have the opportunity to bash that bastard to death with the pipe. :sly:

I didn't find a nailgun in the 2nd room...

A group forming to assist you would is a very good idea. I mean from a technical standpoint you are doing an amazing job, though I think its unrealistic for us to assume that you can do all the work yourself lol
If you need assistance Im sure you could find it here, so please, let us know. :thumb:

Wow!
I liked the Hacker's wrist bands, a nice bit of imaginative work there - it adds to the vulnerability of waking up in that situation. You can almost picture him in the white gown Milla Jovovich is wearing at the end of Resident Evil (the first film). Waking up alone, unarmed, not even clothed properly, disoriented - fits well into the theme.
The medbot looked excellent too. Since you have already done alternative limbs, there could be a few models - mostly pincer ones, but maybe one hypo-doc and one with the circular saw. Maybe the blood texture could be reserved for the circular saw model, which would add an extra shock when it was first encountered (someone could place it in a later room, not the first one).
Brilliant work!
