As for the aesthetic, most of scifi is either inspired by Star Wars or HR Giger anymore, and it gets cliched to death ... But another unsung pioneer was Chris Foss -- big, bold colors, very geometrical -- and that's the route that System Shock took. It's just as iconic and striking as Giger; it's a shame more designers aren't inspired by it.
The LHC once again shows how bold and striking that style can be. I'm a big fan of it.

I'd say Anachronox borrowed from his style (
