Weird but ok.
They're also doing a Driver show, apparently. I can easily see Driver working as a show, just solve a crime mystery and have a car chase each ep, badabing badaboom. A System Shock show tho? What's that gonna be about?

I'd say they have plenty of existing material to work with for a season or two at least.

Starring Steven Seagal as the hacker.

My prediction is this is going to live or die based on sales of the new release, and I'm not sure if that's going to be the boost they're hoping for. But if it does work out, I'd be interested in seeing it. It could be really great as a scifi horror flick going on atmosphere alone.
I also think it'd have to be about the events described in the audiologs, or at least flashingback and forth between Goggles & past events. I can't imagine a show where nobody talks to anybody for most of it.

Not a lick of real information means this is in the early exploratory stage. They got a producer with no real funding.
This is a bad sign, going for "multimedia" on a franchise struggling to push out a product in its traditional medium. You gotta be top property and have broad appeal to do "multimedia."
Also if this somehow gets made, it'll 90% look nothing like and have nothing to do with SS1. It's too bad they can't do SS2 first. Unlike SS2 which is steeped in recognizable scifi tropes, SS1's triangles and rectangles can be anything. Shodan would also be out of date as a remedial AI now.

What are you even trying to say here?
Jashin on 15/10/2021 at 18:55
It's old? Kinda like the old person I gotta explain everything twice to.
It's a whole generation older than SS2 in every single possible facet - design, graphics, controls, UI, etc. Nothing looks like anything in it. I'm supposed to create the space station in my head given the graphics are just basic geometric shapes. The showrunners would have to create an original look for the tv show all on their own. Like demagogue said, you can effectively discard the whole game except the basic setup and the logs.

You
do realize they'd do that anyway, yes? I don't think there's ever been a videogame to live action adaptation that has directly copied over the level design. Even the broad aesthetics usually get tossed out.
Not even going to try to unpack the nonsense of referring to level architecture as "tropes".

I think I'm gonna respect my time and avoid responding to you ever again from this moment on.
You just keep up the moving your own position at will and the old man nitpicking, while having zero experience in actual production. I suppose you live for it.
