Hey. So I'm new to this site and I was wondering if you guys could help me with something. So Chubzdoomer, a guy on youtube, made a video on youtube showing how to get System Shock working on D-fend reloaded. The steps were incredibly easy to follow. But he downloaded his game from abandonia, where as I got the enhanced CD version from amazon. And I think there might be an extra step or two if you have the CD version. So can someone help me figure out how to get System Shock working on D-fend. Would really love to play this game.

you will be downloading a working replacement for your not working legally obtained copy of the game. nothing wrong with that.

I had the same thought when I played SS Portable some years back. I've owned the CD and the floppy in the past. Now all I have is the SS2 CD in jewel case and the manual. I believe a cat I had at the time decided that the big box made for a great toilet so I don't have that anymore.
Do you actually want to use your CD Soul Bound X? If so checking out SS Portable might still be of help to see how it was put together. D-fend and SS Portable both use DOSBox. I don't use DOSBox 'fronts' like D-fend so I can't help you in that respect.

You bought a license to play the game legally, so at this point using System Shock Portable is not going to deprive anyone.
If you want to actually put your CD to use it'll involve a few steps where you're going to need to have a better than fair idea of what you're doing to get it working successfully. I have mine working this way but I come from a DOS gaming background (I bought System Shock in the store (anyone remember Egghead Software?) when it came out originally) and a programming background. For me, it's trivial. But if I had to explain how to do it to someone who doesn't understand command line, I may end up braining that person.
SSP makes running System Shock as trivial as it can be made. If you aren't absolutely driven for the learning process behind getting it to run, I'd go the route of SSP for the sake of your sanity.
