How do you stop the video messages being randomly destroyed? For example, when I went to the first video message in medical it was already smashed before I even got there, so I had to start the game again to see it after already cleaning out the rest of the level.

The only time I recall seeing this already destroyed is if you play with a plot setting on 0. It might happen on a plot setting of 1 as well, but I haven't tested it yet. It could also have to do with other game settings being set really low. Try playing on the hardest settings a few time and see if it happend :p

That's exactly what happened to me. I played on story level 2 and before blowing up the nodes on the first level, the lever was already destroyed.
I should've restart either, but I was too lazy.:p
But I think it's the only message you can get this way or am I wrong?
@Volitions Advocate:
That's sounds bad. I didn't have much trouble with the game, it only killed itself two times out of random.
The game is fantastic, I liked it better than Half-Life.
I updated my savegames, I think I have now all the logs (2 more than D'Arcy;) ) and data and only one email missing (curse you silly lever). But only 769 kills this time.:grr:

Anyway, I'm about to play System Shock 2 right now.

I believe that there's one log that I never bother to get (the error report on the Maintenance level, because I already know what the error is and how to fix it). But I don't know what other log could I have missed (it's an old savegame, so I don't remember exactly how the game went).

Nah - I was on highest for everything except the thing that makes the game timelimited. It's probably just a random thing. But still, annoying :p Whether it is a bug or actually intended in some strange way I do not know.

Or when the player takes off in a random direction which completely screws up the game cause you can no longer control the character. :(
So long for my 3:30 AM caffeine overdriven chaotic pizza box beat-the-game-in-under-an-hour run...
