From what I undrestood, an extremely annoying prick can be IP-banned right away, that also applies to really annoying newbies. banned as well to defend from floating ones, but it takes a severe jerk to ask provider for a new IP or bother with proxies just to annoy people again on some forum. Mods don't have privilege to ban ITT... Perhaps Dave should come in here and clarify.

I never really got that about other forums, it isn't like conversations don't go off on lengthy tangents all the time. Especially, when you're talking about something like System Shock 3, which has absolutely no new information to further the discussion.

TTLG was the first forum I seriously involved myself with, barring one TV show-related one that I signed up to almost concurrently. The one thing that really really annoys me now when I visit other forums are the people (especially OPs) who interject with the sniffly 'can we keep this on topic plz' posts.
Watch now as I get hit a 'keep this on topic' post from TPTB. :D
