Uh... what?
As for the petition, you'll be extremely lucky if anything happens. There's only been a few online petitions that have worked, and only because they were massively supported and had a mail-in petition to boot.

in my opinion, forget SHODAN altogether - as it stands she is an incredible villian and if you ask me not the laughable one that fell into history.
Perhaps leave her out of in order to preserve that reputation she has...
The many could have been possible - but Christines Polaris FM gave the many a new stage in my opinion.
- otherwise i've no creative ideas :(

At first I was ready to 'Flame on', but now that I think about it more I'm starting to agree with you. If EA makes another game, the chance of them doing something to screw it all up is enormous.
I mean, come on, her presence in SS2 is a bit of a screwup in itself. Needing your help? What? SS1 showed that she has plans upon plans upon plans. It felt cheap, and I don't think EA would redeem it.

Catbarf...
I understand the temptation to flame me could have been very high, but thanks for resisting - I don't want my thoughts to provoke any flame wars :) lol
Well - basically a fragment of Shodan survived - she wasnt in control to begin with in SS2 - she needed you as much as you needed her to surive really - I thought the concept of her in SS2 was brilliant - ultimate deception and manipulation on Shodan's part... once the cat is out of the bag - she leaves you for dead - as Delacroix found out ;) where as in SS1 - she was in control from the word go... yet in both games - she consistantly insults you...
(
http://gillen.cream.org/wordpress_html/?page_id=1103) Read This blog. Not only is it a very interesting and thought provoking read, it really highlights the whole going too far with Shodan thing...
If EA make an SS3 with Shodan in - I agree the chances of them "killing off" Shodan is very high - they aint interested in what the fans think - they just want to make money at as little cost to them - Shodan's current rep could possibly be gold dust to EA when it comes to reeling in the System Shock community...

Just look at (
http://michael.swiderek.net/main.html) that page
Here we have Michael Swiderek's site - 2d/3d artist of SS2:)
Look at the gallery/irrational games at the very end of the page youll see what I mean.

Would you LOOK at those Deep Cover UI shots? (Or were they included in the files from August 3rd?)
I almost feel like that site deserves a thread of its own here.

Since some System Shock fans may not visit General Gaming, I just thought I'd note the thread I just created over there:
