I think Shodan worked a lot better as a static image. Everything else looks alright though.

Looks very action heavy, but we'll see. I'm not judging too much from a trailer.

It's looking really good but there's something a bit off about SHODAN's dialog. At least to me. But then again there are plenty of trailers with dialog made just for the trailers that thankfully didn't end up in the final product.

I think she looks better than she did in the Unity Keynote teaser from 5 months ago. As a refresher, here's that one:

Mainly coz she looks less like a digital cyberclown in the new one. :p

They need to make her look uncanny. Throw off the lip sync, maybe make some frames fade into each other, maybe have her talk for a ten second stretch without her mouth moving. I always assumed her audio pitch/envelope changes and the odd background detail (were there children laughing in one of her transmissions in SS2?) were to throw off the player, perceive her as something vain and powerful yet incalculably other. This weird wall muppet thing isn't good enough.

Kind of wierd with the timing though. 2085 is before 2114 of SS2, so this is SS1.5 instead of 3, not an actual sequel? I hope that part is just a backflash chapter or something and we actually get to see what happens with SHOBecca.

I suppose that despite the Citadel disaster, TriOptimum wanted to continue developing SHODAN or the mutagen virus that she deployed on Citadel at that blacksite.

yeah, I also hope they won't go ahead with that in-between-quel thing. there is no way of doing it without screwing up the canon - remember Deus Ex.
give us that bit of nostalgic rush, make the game play decently, wrap the SS story up nicely, and you'll be golden.

I don't get all the complaints about canon. They've explicitly set SS3 at a blacksite, meaning anything that happens there can plausibly NOT ever become public knowledge, even by the time of SS2.
It's not even hard to guess the probable broad outlines of SS3's plot. After the Citadel Station disaster, TriOp recovers as much of SHODAN and her research as they could from the wreckage of the station. They want to continue the research, since she came up with all sorts of cool weapons and biotech. But SHODAN's actions also killed a bunch of people, so they can't exactly continue the research in the public eye. So they set up on an asteroid or whatever, with SHODAN running in a firewalled environment for analysis and interrogation, which she promptly escapes from, things go to hell, yadda yadda.
As for the player, it would probably feel like a joke at this point to have your avatar waking up from cryosleep yet again, so my guess is that you'll be someone sent from the recently-formed UNN to investigate.
