What does it mean when I get this trying to install the mod?
Code:
C:\Games\Thief TDP>widescreen\WeiDU.exe --nogame widescreen\DarkWidescreen.tp2
[widescreen\WeiDU.exe] WeiDU version 20600
[widescreen\WeiDU.exe] Using scripting style "BG"
WARNING: parsing log [WeiDU.log]: Sys_error("WeiDU.log: No such file or directory")
Would you like to display the readme? [Y]es [N]o
Same with Thief Gold. :(
Ah never mind, I just saw "no such file" and then "readme" and thought something was wrong, but hitting N prompts the installation!

Whenever I try to play thief gold with the wide screen mod I get "Error: Direct3ddevice driver does not accurately report texture memory usage. contact your d3d accelerator vendor for updated drivers." This works perfectly fine for ss2. did anyone else encounter this problem? and if so what do I need to do to fix it? I have read most of the posts if not all. I'm probably just not understanding what is going on here. I'm using the latest version and my graphics card is a geforce 7600 gs

That's the GeForce problem rather than a widescreen problem, I'd think.

So a fix for the stretching would require actual switching of the menu image files? For every applicable resolution? I've thought of it myself, but it simply isn't that important to me.
Maybe a batch image resizing program could do it easily, but...

You can't change the resolution of those unfortunately. That and it doesn't look that bad.

Surely there's only one set for all the default resolutions, so the original images are just in 4:3 aspect ratio and stretched. Aren't most widescreen ratios 16:9 or 16:10? Then it would just be necessary to create a set at that aspect ratio rather than one for every res.
(additionally, if those pics can't be changed in dimensions as mentioned above, for widescreen nerds that use a consistent aspect ratio you might be able to make modded menu pics at 16:9/10 which are then squished to the supported 4:3 size, but then present correctly in widescreen. Maybe? Might cause jaggies and play havok with the menu, could be worth a try though.)

Now only someone needs to update the .exe with this source code update.
Btw, I saw the new version of the Widescreen mod with now a FOV part during the install. Because I use 1920x1200 i entered a 110% FOV.
Why that number , check it for yourself. Remember im not really good in this widescreen stuff so i can be wrong.
