I love me some System Shock 2. So I felt the need to create a music video tribute using music from the game itself. The reason I'm posting it here is because I wanted some feedback on the video, and I thought the best way to get feedback is to show it to actual SS2 fans.
I worked hard on getting the shots I needed and syncing said shots to the music. I feel it turned out well enough. Some of these shots were a real bitch to get while playing ingame, mostly because it would usually mean sacrificing precious health and ammo and then being forced to plow through the game even further. I think by the end of the game, my character was practically limping the whole way. :p Not particularly easy to shoot your way through the entire game.
Anyways, here's at least two links to the video:
EDIT: The newer version is up on YouTube, but I still haven't reuploaded the Game Trailers version.

Just give me opinions. That's all I want. I'm also very willing to go back and improve some things, as I still have all the footage (plus stuff I never even used).
Of course, nobody
has to watch it. I'm not twisting anybody's arm here.

Nice. But you should definitely include sounds.

Very nice, though you kind of spoiled the ending for anyone who hasn't played the game yet. Then again, those people won't know they've seen parts of the ending, so I guess it's not so bad. :D

*cough* Except for the ones who just read your post and now know that said video contains parts of the ending*cough*

Except that it was meant as a (somewhat cheeky, granted) warning for people not to watch, if they haven't played the game yet. And a hint to JackSlaterG2 to add some kind of spoiler warning to this thread and the video.
Also, I didn't specify which parts are the ending.
Though I guess it wouldn't take a genius to figure out which ones they are. So ya got me, all right? Happy? :grr: :D

You know, there's a setting in the DIVX codec to disable that logo.
The video itself just looked like a bunch of random gameplay footage slapped together. At least the music was from SS2, and not some j-pop.

What ZB said, especially the bit about the music. It's not my favourite SS2 tune, but I really hate it when people put random, unrelated and usually awful music over game videos. And you didn't do that.

Which is what I intended. It's vague enough to not spoil the story for new players, and still be a decent tribute for veteran players.

For some reason, I could never get the cut scenes to work, so I had to download the cutscenes for the video, and that particular cutscene had the DIVX logo slapped on it. It annoyed me at first, but it's really not so bad since it's only at the first part of the video. But I can probably still go back and fix it.

Well... that's usually what a VGMV is usually composed of.
It does flow in a specific order. It actually goes in the order some of those sequences appear in the game actually (well, except for one or two clips, which are mixed in). It's intended to plow through the entire game in beat to the music. Although I admit, I could of put in some faster paced clips in some parts.

I hate that too. Nothing worse then seeing a one of your favorite games, movies or shows set to something like Linkin Park. :nono:

I took this suggestion as well as some others in this thread and improved upon the video. There's now sound in it and some clips near the later part of the video were changed. Plus I put a quote from Shodan at the very ending. :thumb:

Pretty cool with the sounds. I almost think the cuts are too quick though, sometimes it's pretty hard to see exactly what's happening. But then again I'm one of those people who likes the slower paced stuff.
