Trying to run SS2 on Win 7 64bit, but no luck. Game crashes when starting a new game(affinity set to use only one core), and won't even start with compatability set to Win XP. My rig is Core2Duo 2.4Mhz 4 gigs ram, geforce 9800GTX. Any suggestions please??? (I am using the SS2tool v. 2.7)

Hey everyone, just got SS2 working up until I enter the basic tutorial. The sound screws up and then the whole thing freezes. Any suggestions?

Sorry, I'd been working on it and didn't think to post specs :erg:. I'm running a core 2 quad with windows 7 and a nvidia gtx 280. I've doe the steps listed in this guide, (
http://www.strangebedfellows.de/index.php/topic,106.0.html) , but the and game plays fine until i enter the first tutorial and then there is no sound. I doesn't crash until I enter one of the next tutorials and begins sound stutters and then locks up.

okay tried it with the secmod instead of Straylights mod and the sound worked... until I tried to save and then the button sound repeated contiously.

hmm. it appears that if I have hardware acceleration on in the sound options it glitches, so I turn it off and the game works. Now the problem seems to be that it doesn't save my configuration settings when I start it up again. Annoying but playable.

nevermind, sound glitches when saving no matter the settings. So if I can play the game in one sitting I should be okay with no new issues. :grr:

Do quicksaving and the autosave still work? Because what you could do is rebind the quicksave to a save slot other than its default. This way, you can quicksave whenever you want and the autosave can act as a backup if something goes wrong. It's not a perfect solution, but it's something.
Instructions on rebinding the quicksave are (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=126381#post126381) here and in the readme that came with the SS2 patch (or on the disk if you have the version that was packaged with the patch installed).

I rebound the quick save and it seems to be working. Thanks so much for your help.
