Part 15: Desperate MidwifesIt's a shame you got attacked in the middle of that ghost cutscene. The subplot of the midwives, how Nurse Bloome and eventually the entire nursing staff got turned into these robotic creatures, is one of the most horrifying things in the game. I'd go back to an earlier save and rewatch it uninterrupted if you can.
And no, their name is not stupid. It's perfectly descriptive of what they are. In the next installment or two you'll discover the log that fully explains them.

He doesn't pay any attention to the audio logs at all as part 16 clearly shows. He may want to actually stop and listen to that log (and ALL the other logs he has gotten to this point.).

Yeah, I'm starting to believe that making a let's play video is the worst possible way to experience SS2 for the first time. Of course a game that relies on building dread and psychological horror isn't going to work for someone when they're constantly distracted by the ten-minute clock and coming up with amusing chatter and keeping the gameplay moving moving moving. The first ten or so of these videos were pretty entertaining, but it's getting increasingly like being at the movies with that friend who plays with his phone all through the first hour, and then keeps going "Who's that? Why is he doing that? Where are they? Are they enemies?" and ends up not liking it because it was "confusing". So you slap him.

greatly depends on how the person does the LP. I quite enjoyed the one Fen did a while ago.

Yea, I don't pay attention to the audio logs when filming because I'm focused on keeping the game moving, and I know I'll have time to listen to them in editing when I don't have to try to constantly be entertaining.

How is this the worst way possible exactly? Because I'm focused on entertaining rather than immersing myself in the story? I suppose you have a point, but can't afford to entirely focus on the story, because like you said I have to focus on being entertaining and keeping game play moving. If I don't do that then you get silent me bumbling around, and that's not entertaining for you, the viewer.
But let's not fool ourselves, the story of SS2 isn't exactly Shakespeare in the first place. It boils down to an AI takes over a ship and you have to fight your way out. I would assume it was a story that hadn't yet been done to death when it came out originally and ya there's a lot of audio logs to help flesh out the world, and it's by no means bad, but to me the story isn't as high on the priority list while filming.

Well that is all you know right now; Xerxes is in control of the ship and Polito is helping you escape. The story is going to change a lot over the rest of the game.

It's kind of like watching someone eat a top-quality steak for the first time, but in front of a live studio audience, so they're covering it with candy sprinkles and cutting it with a chainsaw. Entertaining to be sure, but as a steak fan, one can't help but cringe.
Alas, I have no better option to suggest. First-play videos are what they are.
So, another random bit of gameplay advice-- When your inventory gets overloaded, it's safe to dump stuff in the world. I personally prefer the Hydroponics deck lobby for this, since it's a big, empty, well-lit area right next to an elevator.

Ok so that might be one of the best analogies I've ever heard. XD
And if you guys dislike it so much, I could just, you know, move on. Do another game, maybe one I've played before. I still want to do the Darkness 2 eventually so I can show everyone who didn't buy it how stupid they are.
I mean if you can stand me cutting the steak with a chainsaw, then I'll do it untill I finish the last bit like I promised. Ss2 is my most popular series, but at the end of the day I'm not making these videos to entertain myself.
