OK, so for my creative writing class, we're making a children's book. And inspired by this poster, I made a short poem that I'm insanely proud of. And now, "Me and My Big Daddy".

Let me tell you a story,
that takes place on the seafloor.
At an undersea city,
I know you want to hear more.

You hearts and minds
I know I will capture,
with a story about my Big Daddy and me,
in the city of Rapture.

I'm a little sister,
A previously cute little madam,
who's been turned into a monster,
tasked with the job of generating Adam.

Adam is what makes the wheels of Rapture spin
A special green substance for genetic modification.
It acts almost like a benign form of cancer,
but instead of destroying,
Adam's an advancer!
It kills old cells and replaces them,
with upgraded versions, it sure is a gem!

The new cells are unstable, sure.
but the powers they give you,
I'm sure you'll adore.
It'll make you stronger, faster.
Make you shrink or expand.
You can shoot fire, ice, or lightning from you hands!
The potential for backfiring is almost zero,
Because Adam turns you into a superhero!

It's only downfall is the consumption rate.
It's almost like a drug, the more you take in,
the more you need to feel great.

And that's where we little sisters come in
Because of the slugs we have under our skin.
It's a symbiote that's perfect for making the stuff,
We're told “Make more Adam, make more Adam,
there can never be enough!“.

It has more worth than Gold,
but it's too valuable to be sold.
Adam is really a precious thing to behold.

But in Rapture morals don't have much place
Little Sisters get killed an an astonishing pace.
And that's why we have Big Daddy's to guard,
us when we're out doing this gruelingly hard job.

They don't show remorse to anyone who tries to prevent us,
from doing our job, Big Daddies are relentless.
Make advances twords me with a knife or a gun,
and my Big Daddy will be sure to put you on the run.
With a drill in his hand, and enormous strength on his side,
I love the safety a Big Daddy provides.

But be warned,
It's still a dangerous task to achieve,
So pick up a wrench and grab us some Eve.
There are of course, rewards if we succeed
A hypo for you, and a plasmid for me.

And we will fight anyone who get's in our way,
because after all...
A man chooses,
but a slave obeys.
