well actually i count only 11 people in SSArena5
but probably this wont last for long if new players try to join
then i think option1 would be the best
there is hardly anything that can be done to overcome the 16 players limit
you might develop some rules like to keep one or two slots open all the time so people can browse through the cannels but most likely people would not obey such rules because they dont know them or forget about them or dont care
hamachi should remove the 16 people limit for the channels but it might take some time until they do that.
so bottom line is: i have no idea what to do

Damn, and here I thought I was being clever by using Hamachi to play SS2.

Its still a useful program....just a useful program with an irritating limitation. Eventually I'm sure they'll do away with the user cap. Until then I leave it open to the public as to what happens next.

hamachi is still great for those who cant establish a connection at all
it looks like the MP list is here to stay, but at least now we have an easier way to connect to eachother
RocketMan on 24/7/2005 at 05:10
Apparently somebody made SSArena 6 and 7 without posting anything about it........ok...w/e.....I've made 8,9 and 10 because 1-5 are full. Same password (rocket)

I'm still a little confused, how do I get it to show my Hamachi IP in SShock2 instead of my default one?
RocketMan on 21/8/2005 at 23:48
It won't "show you" your hamachi IP....you have to get that from the hamachi program when you launch it and connect to a network....write it down and give it to your buddy for example...then you host the game and he will take your hamachi IP and type it in ss2 and connect to you....so your hamachi IP will be the host and your friend, the client. Any other players also connect to the host the same way so you really only need 1 IP, the host's IP.

For some strange reason I can't connect to Hamachi.

hmm, unless i'm missing something you are using the SSArena Hamachi accounts in the wrong way.
If people leave the Hamachi network when they aren't using it everyone has more opportunity to find someone to play with.
This way you can log into SSArena1 and see if anyone is available for a game. If you can't get into SSA1 (because 16 people are logged in and active) then try SSA2. As long as people leave the network when they are done this will lead to everyone finding partners quickly.
As it stands you could have 1 player waiting in SSArena1 and another in SSArena2. Unless everyone registered to these accounts are the same as they largely appear to be in 8, 9 and 10 (the only ones I can log into) .
It's daft that people need to be registered to multiple accounts for fear of losing their position. If everyone leaves the network all should be happy - and if people don't leave Rocketman can delete them.
Or am I missing something here ?

I have to agree with Pyramus. In the current state with the 16 player limit it's very hard to find a player if the most players stay offline in the network because they fear to loose their spot.
But what is your spot worth if most people in your network are offline. This is very annoying. I only ever made it in SSArena8 and no one was online.
Whats the point of not leaving the network if you don't want to play?
