Your view of the world is so clear, ever thought of doing something else besides bitching on the internet?
You might as well ask that of every other toerag out there filling up bandwidth with dreck.

So they were doing a show on the 10 scariest games of all time.
System Shock 2 came in at #2 just below Silent Hill 2. (I tried Silent Hill 1 but it was slow/clunky/bad clues IMO).
I liked Silent hill 2, but scariest game of all time? Its not even the scariest silent hill. It should not even show up in a top ten list imo.

I think the first one needs to be where Silent Hill 2 is.. The first 10 minuets scared me more then most of SS2 did. (Except for midwives.. Those things still spook me.)

They're all different kinds of scary. Not everyone gets jumpy over the same kind of thing.
SS2 makes you feel an intolerable level of discomfort
SH2 and... well all of them really, trie to shock you with disturbing sounds and imagery.
FEAR tried to do a bit of both but relied on quiet bits to build tension then diverting to frantic action. It became quiet formulaic
Or rather thats how I saw it.

My problem is that most games are not consistently scary. I suppose that's to be expected though. But Shock2 is a whole lot less scary once you get some firepower going. And I remember the scariest part of Undying was having one of those fast sunnuvabitches come charging at me down the hall through the window curtains blowing in the wind. Actually, most of the beginning of that game was pretty scary.
I never got very far into Silent Hill, nor have I played Silent Hill 2.
I like the Shock2 kind of scary the most.

Ahh.. Undying beats on Silent Hill for me. Its just more terrifying from the first person. Plus, the bosses were downright terrifying. (Ugh. Lisbeth.. :wot:)

Good bit that. I remember there was a weird, unreal light outside the windows that attracted my attention, so that I hardly noticed them until they were almost upon me. Great moment.
Yes, the very start of Undying is best. Though I remember a bit not far into the game where loads of slug-monsters continually teleport in right next to you that wasn't scary at all, just annoying as you ran through the house trying to find an unlocked door. Once that bit was over it got good again.

For a gaming TV, it's amazing they even knew what SS2 is.

Whats freaky with ss2, after you come out of cryogenics, most of the people you knew on the ship are trying to kill you and yelling "run" , as they shoot you with a shotgun, or you come around a corner, you double over because of a low blow to the jewels:eww:. Or the silvery blur of throwing stars as they thwip thwip into your face and body.
The ambiance of light and shadow makes the playability fun, plus some of the texture and model upgrades made by other fans.
try coop using crion impossible mod :sly: !!
