I played the original version in 1994-5 and am interested in buying a CD which is being offered on Amazon as well as EBay. Is this the original game? Or is it one called "enhanced"; if the latter what's the difference?
Will the CD work with my Windows XP Professional? Or do I have to do a number of "tweaks" to get the game to run?
I'm sorry for all the questions, but this is the best game I ever played and I'm anxious to buy a CD and play it again. Thanks in advance for any and all advice, suggestions, etc. pukey

Seeing as OP's questions were answered in one fell swoop, this seems like a good enough place as any to ask...
...HOW DO I KILL THEM GOD DAMNED INVISIBLE MUTANTS
I just got done getting my ass handed to me repeatedly by those horrible respawning Hoppers on the reactor level. Now getting chased around in the dark by enemies that take two bazillion sparq shots to take down.
I hope I'm not supposed to use grenades to kill them, me and grenades don't get along too well. I think it might have something to do with the way I always end up spiking them on the ceiling or something.

Laser rape is their weakness.

Yes, the Laser Rapier is the most effective weapon against them. However, if you don't want to get that close, you can always try the Flechette with Splinter ammo. It's also effective.

I'm usually a pretty thorough guy, but I have neither the rapier nor the flechette. I'm guessing they're on reactor somewhere? I shortened my stay there after getting abused by hoppers for the umpteenth time and I never did find that rad suit (managed to power up the shields though).

The rapier: is on level 3. When you first arrive in the lift, turn to your left and take the last doorway on the left, climb the ladder and follow the corridor to get the rapier. Careful as it's guarded by a Sec1 bot.
It's been a while since I played, so my directions may be a little rusty.

I seem to remember the rapier being tucked away in an alcove above a slanted wall.

I remember mostly running like hell until I got the magnum. Maybe my impression of its effectiveness was out of whack, but it sure was accurate at a distance.

The Rapier is where driver says. But it's the first door on your left that you have to take. Once inside, go right until you find the ladder, and the Rapier will be up there, guarded by a robot, as he said.
The Flechette can be found in the Reactor level. You'll have to go through the reduced gravity room to find it.
