The title is self explanatory. System shock runs very well without full screen (with all the hud displays). Runs slow with full screen. Im playing it in dos box, the (system shock portable) ( i have the game btw I just cant figure DOSBOX out.) The portable version is the CD enhanced version. I have a decent enough computer, dual core, nvidia 8600 GT, 4 sticks of ram, more than enough space. The game slows down just enough in full screen to make playing the game really annoying. Its not a big deal but I figured I have nothing to lose by asking for some help. So mainly what I want to know is if when you play the game, if it slows down and gets jerky in full screen. And maybe some tips or hints on how to get the game to run more smoothly. Oh and I have Vista so I have to use DOSBOX. Which is a problem because DOSBOX is a beast when it comes to the amount of hardware it needs to emulate some games.

Try setting the renderer to openglnb. That worked for me.
