So ... MMOSS1?

If the enemies and all could get added in I'm not sure why you couldn't...

Heh...I'd go for it, even if it were a visual thing on top of an irc client.
Hmm, wonder how hard it'd be to add in being able to damage people and other things.
hmmmmmm
Hell, just turn it into an MMO at that point :p
Lineage (most popular Korean MMORPG) started life as a graphic chat client :)

/me should've kept working on the Java SS1 rewrite. SS1 as an applet would be cool.

SSI visual chat room eh? That would be awsome, and the suggestion about custom sprites is a very good one too. Dibs on an assasain!

i get to be an invisible mutant. those things are bastards.

Well we have to figure out how to have multipul clients connected at the same time, and before THAT there has to be the ability to have actual objects as opposed to just an empty level.
However I wholeheartedly want this to expand into a visual chatroom/mmo/whatever. I mean granted Citadel is one of the less logicly lain out places I've encountered but hey, its SHODAN's domain, who are we to fault her buildings?
Oh and if there's custom spriting....I have my own little something in mind.

But we already have TSSHP to check the texture alignments...
That's true, but this can be run in a window, which makes for easier alt-tabbing back to DromED.
I haven't run TSSHP in a while, though, so I don't remember how easy it is to alt-tab from that.

You might want to look at (
http://emma3d.org/) Emma3D for this, rather than VRML. It's a lot more powerful, though probably more work to get running.

TSSHP runs in a window, too.
The only problem with it is that it's a little buggy and sometimes crashes if you try to look at certain areas.
There were one or two sections in Medical that were a pain to texture because it kept crashed. I think I loaded up the real game in the end.
