While just browsing through the Underdogs abandonware site, I saw this bit:
"The version on this site is the floppy version, which contains only VGA graphics. After the unfortunate demise of Looking Glass Studios in 200, Through the Looking Glass, the premier fansite for the developer, has put up the full CD-ROM version of System Shock for download. Their site is linked in the related links section below. While this is tremendous news, be warned though: the game occupies a whole CD (with SVGA graphics and voice overs), so make sure your phone bills are paid before attempting the 640MB download :)"
So I followed the link to (
http://www.ttlg.com/ss1/index.htm,) http://www.ttlg.com/ss1/index.htm, checked a few links, and all I could find was a link to buy the cd rom version. So I thought, "Hrm, perhaps they'll have it at a reasonable price instead of the prices on ebay." No luck, 404.
So, my question basically is, did this site ever offer the full SS1 cd for download, does it now, and if not, where could I buy it for a reasonable price?

You are misinformed. The game occupies 320 MB of the CD, not 640.
Yes, TTLG once offered the download, but it had to be taken down because it ate away the bandwidth.
Note that here is a whole forum dedicated to System Shock. Read the guidelines there, and you'll find what you seek.
