I'm constantly thinking about selling mine (the original 49 key) because it's kind of big/bulky for what it is, and something about the tone doesn't jibe with me. It sounds fantastic if I use it like a normal virtual analog subtractive synth, but when I start playing with FM or wavescanning or whatever it fatigues my ears and I don't know why. I'm gonna install and try out the new firmware before getting rid of it I think.

I'm enjoying it a lot, the Explorer. The modding interface is so intuitive, I can put a patch together click, click, click and it'll sound good. There are ways you can get around certain stock things, like you can morph just parts of a wave, or you can use the EQ for a lowfi vibe (instead of their stock lowfi function).
Anyway I actually came here because I bought a patch bank and it's been inspiring me, not to mention I'm learning a lot just by looking at how he makes patches, stuff I wouldn't have thought about, like using EQ more, keytracking parameters, some other things. Anyway, this guy makes great patches. (Kind of funny that this thread was coincidentally bumped just as I came to post in it.)

If bulk is an issue, trading it for an Explorer or Desktop is in the cards. I'm really happy with the size of the Explorer. I'll just sit in a sofa and pull it up. The small keys are of course fine for ambient, but even with just vanilla jazz practice, I'm probably practicing scales and language more with this than a full sized keyboard, since I can pull it up when I have a few minutes. Fingering does have to change.

I think I know what will pair well with my Hydrasynth for a sequencer and all around brains of the operation. I saw someone jamming on a Hydrasynth-Deluge pairing in a briefcase on a train, and it was pretty cool to see.
Sure Octatrack may be more powerful, but what good is power if you have to keep looking every little thing up in a manual, and you can't really go off script. But this thing... like the Hydrasynth, you just look at it and you know what to do.

Edit: While I'm posting, (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuJWdQjdUL0) this Perfourmer-Deluge pairing is so pretty. (This guy also has some good Hydrasynth-Deluge pairing videos as well.)
Edit2: Also worth mentioning that the Deluge has had a ton of firmware updates, an OLED screen now, and they're making their firmware (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYH3nw8OrQw) open source, meaning modders can improve it indefinitely completely independently of the creators, which is pretty cool. Reminds me of the VCV scene; people are having as much fun coding the modules as making music with them.

I ended up selling my Hydrasynth, Prologue 16, Reface CS/DX, and Digitone to make space in my room/head. It's kind of nice selling gear because it's redundant unlike 20 years ago when I was shipping off my vintage stuff to pay the rent.
Trying to learn the Digitakt this summer. I was initially thinking of selling it and getting a Rytm MkII since that has essentially the same sample engine, but they've added a few things to the Digitakt for manipulating loops that makes it seem worth learning. I guess I'll be back in 10,000 hours.

Apparently Korg are reissuing the PS-3300? And it's called FS, which implies there will eventually be a mini one.

I have a feeling this is going to be a hard pass for me, since I can't see this being under $10k. Still, surprised of all the legacy Arp and Korg instruments this is one they prioritized. Over something like an Omni MkII (which was the best-selling Arp synth) or a Maxikorg.

PGH is releasing a keyboard version of the Taiga. Which removes my excuse for not getting one I guess (i.e. not being a standalone instrument).

I guess by watching pics and videos that they're (almost) all analogue?
