Super 6 looks awesome. I might put it third on my list after the Summit & Hydrasynth.
I may need to get something new soon too. My poor MOX8 is starting to show its age with little glitches popping up recently.
I really like the Summit, but Yamahas are really good as a workstation that can serve as a hub for lots of different things, and I don't know if another synth focused on making patches can fill that role like that. So I might just get whatever current Yamaha is the equivalent of the MOX8, and get one for making patches sometime after that.

All I would lose would be the aesthetics and inspirational factor / happy accident potential of lots of knob twiddling.
That part is really important, though, and as unproductive as I am with modular, I know I'd be even less productive using only software. Maybe I just need to watch some Hainbach videos to get my inspiration going.

Hydrasynth looks great and possibly even better suited for drone music since it has so many modulation options, but I haven't heard any demos of it where I've liked the basic sound as much as the Super 6. I've been most productive with relatively simple synths that have pretty classic sounds. But then I something like Strega and think "damn, I wish I could make that sound." It's a neverending stupid spiral.

True enough, and I'd miss that, but I notice lately that I've become really quick at getting a sound from scratch which is both useable in a mix and has that excitement factor of sounding interesting by just opening Ableton's Wavetable synth or Arturia's Pigments (the latter might be my favourite VST of all time) and dialling something in based on what I want in my head.
As long as selling synths remains a massive ball ache, I expect I'll just hem and haw over it forever.

Lately I've been thinking I should sell all my guitars and buy turntables.

So you want to make a Yaz record.

Don't mess around, you bring me down.

Does anybody have any experience with the (
https://www.roland.com/uk/products/system-1/) Roland System 1? I very nearly bought one, but ended up with the JU-06a instead, to replace my old Juno-60. I was quite tempted. Is it any good?

I have heard good things about the system 8 if you can get past the way it looks.
Not sure what the major differences are between System 1 & System 8 though.

FFS, a Situation joke, and I didn't even get it the first time. And I'm supposed to be a Vince Clarke fanboy nerd  For shame.
