Synth trackers? - TTLG Forums

I'm positive this has been discussed in the past, but its hot and Im lazy. Ok, I'm looking for sounds that I cant achieve with live playing(as in me actually playing a keyboard). A prime example is this track (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LozfnevC0w0&feature=related) Work - Junior Boys, the synth riff that runs throughout the whole song is the stuff I'm looking for. I am assuming one would use a tracker or such software, but I have no idea what to use, or even how to use it. Any advice on this topic would be much appreciated.
I'm pretty sure I could have just sent a PM to Tonamel, but I reckon there are lots of other people who know this stuff too.

oh yeh just in case it helps, I use Adobe Audition 3 for my recording.

Sounds to me like a classic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_TB-303) 303/(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roland_TR-909) 909 sequence or some immitation thereof.

I dunno if it's exactly the sort of thing, but Rebirth does a good impersonation and will probably be fun in any case.

No probs (dunno where the other synth heads got to).

What is this "air con" of which you speak? Did I misshear over the bubbling of brain fluids? (can't complain too much really. It's fairly breezy here)
