Actor, Director Sydney Pollack died today from cancer. I have not seen many of the films he directed but he was always a welcome charasmatic presence as an actor. Loved his performances in 'Husbands and Wives', 'Eyes Wide Shut' and 'Tootsie'.

The Firm has had a place in my DVD collection for a long time and Three Days of the Condor is a classic. I like Pollack as an actor too, his recent turn in Michael Clayton (and not so recently The Sopranos) reminded me that he plays a corporate asshole pretty much to perfection.

I haven't seen 'The Firm' since I saw it in it's theatrical release, so I think it's time to give it another viewing especially since I was pretty young when I saw it the first time. Didn't know he was in 'Michael Clayton', now I have one more great reason to see it when it comes to DVD.
