Yeh I've read Inside Out, great book. I can't be sure, but I thought on the dvd commentary Waters said something about it being based on actual pick-me-ups being given to a member of the band. It definately wasn't Syd though, because it would have been later on when they toured more, and the only time Syd was mentioned was the start with the shot of the cigarette that has been completely burnt. Apparently they found Syd in an identical situation once...

Yeah, Nick Mason's book is a must read for any PF fan. Check out the floating stage from a Venice concert near the end of the book. Wow!

Unfortunately I don't think Pink Floyd will ever be regarded as the greatest. Especially with the likes of the Beatles and Led Zep around. But their influence is undeniable.
