first off let me say that ive already finished ss2, but im curious about this
are there any survivors which you get to interract with? from what i recall, the closest encounter with a survivor is when you see cortez through the glass. and the other is when you see that person through the glass getting shot by a hybrid right near the start. Are there any other survivors which you see on board the ship?

Another survivor would be the woman that gets killed by the shotgun hybrid very early in the game. Also Cortez on Deck 5 yells through the window at you.

Dosen't the guy next to the first bulkhead get electrocuted right when you enter the area? (Not sure if he would count as a survivor..)

I just remember an explosion there, but battery on the floor next to a body does tell a theory about what happened...
