Super Mario World 1 for me. Played that to death.

It's a toss up between Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, and Mario64 for me.
I'd be hard pressed to choose one over the other, but if I absolutely HAD to, I guess...yeah, I'd have to go with Mario64. It had the challenge, the gameplay, and you could spend days, weeks, and months with it discovering all it's little nooks and crannies. There wasn't anything quite like it at the time.

Another vote for Super Mario World. So many good memories of playing it, I used to know all the levels inside and out. I still fire it up every so often (it actually seems really hard now!). SM64 was fun, but for some reason I lost interest and just never finished it.

Super Mario World. It was just so tightly sculpted. Perfect gamey game. Makes me want to install a SNES emulator.

I suppose this was inevitable.

My favorite 3D platformer is Croc 1 though
Awww man, that way first 3D platofrmer I ever played on my 3DFX. That takes me back. But my abosulte favorite was Gecko 3D - wall climbing, each stage themed after various movie genres - cartoon, horror, western. There was even a Gexzilla Boss battle wrecking the whole city as you fought haha. MDK was pretty good in the day too.
