Nope, I flushed my eye out with saline, that must of helped a little bit. I then took my finger nail and scraped it off.
*shudders* You know that stuff they use to fill windshield pecks? If you drop some on your skin it will start to burn in seconds. I was at a stop sign and reached down for my eye drops which happened to be in a bottle the same size and right next to it. I had to drive about 6 miles before I could flush it out at a service station. On the plus side, once the swelling goes down, it cures hell out of pink eye.

Crap! I'm 20 minutes late*. Happy birthday, BA :D
*Though I may be wrong due to daylight saving. Who invented that anyway?

Did I ever tell you about the time I had some super glue splatter and a little drop landed right on the white of my eyeball. That was fun. ⌐x⌐
NO don't ever bring that up EVER again! I work with superglue almost daily, and I've had a few close calls when I thought 'ahh nahh, safety glasses would be overkill for this tiny part'. That stuff is so small, particularly, literally.

Did I ever tell you the about the time when I was doing some hot-air soldering, and wasn't wearing my safety glasses? Hot ball of liquid solder into the eyeball. Nice. So anytime you are around something liquid you don't want in your eye, wear some decent safety glasses. My safety glasses have probably saved my eyes since I started wearing them around my job all the time. I don't spend more than like 1 hour per day at work without safety glasses on.

Yeah same here. I've gotten hot solder, particles of exploded IC's and capacitors, super glue, urethane, silicone, acetone, and pretty much any other liquid chemical you would find in a prototyping facility, in my eyes. I wear the glasses constantly now, but before I had them I was constantly risking. Urethane is by far the most painful. I've never had an extreme amount of super glue in my eyes, but it's always been a big fear of mine because it's printed in HUGE letters on the bottle, DO NOT GET IN YOUR EYES! IF YOU DO, SEE DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY!
I've never used hot air soldering, i'm afraid of change, but does it do as good a job as iron soldering?

Hot air soldering is done with solder sleeves like on this page at the top. (
http://www.rightfindinc.com/terminals_ferrules.htm) http://www.rightfindinc.com/terminals_ferrules.htm It is essentially a piece of shrink tubing with a piece of solder in the middle. Used to join a wire to a terminal cup. Doesn't replace standard hot iron soldering. Hot air guns will heat any solder and blow it away though, so the air gun is good for stripping old soldered pieces apart, if nothing is burnable on it.
Happy Birthday again BA. Just in case you come back, I'm sure you don't want boring soldering talk.

So I saw this thread and thought someone was actually asking for advice for glue to use on a broken vase and thought "BA will be all over that" without realizing it was a birthday thread.
Happy birthday! And congrats on being born when all the cool kids were!

Hah I realized that as soon as I clicked 'submit'. Thanks for the info though!
And yes, this thread is about Broken Arts Birfday! Probably the most important birthday of the year besides mine!

Ohhh you are talking to a woman that lives in a shop, not literally. :P I love shop talk, don't worry about that. :)
